Squad has the best audio in gaming without a doubt. Thanks for uploading an updated video, they’re always adding new weapons so the videos become outdated every few months.
@@luger700Squad has a realistic base, but the dynamics of the weapon sounds are almost non-existent, which overall makes it sound pretty mediocre. Battlefield 3 (regardless of being an arcade game overall) does a much better job with weapon sounds in various environments, especially urban ones. On the other hand, Squad has the best explosion and effects in the entire gaming industry so far.
@@SomeOne-xm5mq They have dynamic audio on some maps like Black Coast. It needs to be added to every map though. Battlefield from Bad Company through V had really fantastic dynamic audio where weapons signatures altered based on where they were being fired. Also agree on the particle effects.
Ok, are we not gonna talk about how awesome that M16A2 is? Like seriously, It's nice to see it finally featured in an all weapons video for Squad. Newer guns are great, but sometimes you just can't beat the classics.
@@popupheadlights You got that right! There's just something about them that's so cool. Newer ARs may be better, but there's just something about mounting optics on the carry handle that's so cool. You just can't beat that classic charm.
@@kyles9937 oh yeah they’re amazing. I’m not sure if your in a country where you can buy firearms or if your old enough yet(not an insult I promise) but palmetto state armory is remaking m16a1,2 the colt xm177 and they’re awesome i just got the xm177
@@popupheadlights Yeah, I'm here in America, but I'm not old enough quite yet, and besides, I'm in college so I've got more important things to worry about. That is pretty cool though. Who knows, maybe at some point in the future I'll pick one of those up. Thanks for the info man! Awesome to hear you picked up an XM177! Those old school 'Nam era Carbines are awesome! Congratulations!
About those gun showcase... What weapon you're like it? Mine are: Pistol: - Beretta M9 Series (Classic, but hard hitting 9mm pistol. And prefer the modern A3 or A4) - MP-443 (At least it was a 9mm pistol that capable fire +P+ 9mm 7N31 AP rounds. Wish the classic Beretta can withstand such rounds...) Rifle: - QBZ-95-1 (China exclusive 5.8mm* cartridge that have same or outstanding performance against 5.56 or 5.45mm cartridges. Unlike the others, standard 5.8mm ammunition are capable to penetrate light body armor at ease. Although modernizing the QBZ-95-1 isn't easy as others as the chassis is much older than modern, but the unique performance makes me my favorite one) * Fun fact: China 5.8mm design pattern was based on a scaled down 6mm intermediate calibre which resulted have a 6mm performance in a small calibre. - FAL pattern (Maybe because I want a classic .30cal rifle with capable to modernized. And the SA-58 seems to be capable to do so. While may heavier, at least it was much more hard hitting against the odds) LMG: QJB-95-1 LSW (Same as the QBZ, but much more firepower in a compact size. My preferred customize is replace the factory bipod into bayonet lug, and have extend handguard with rails so that capable to modify anything as well*) *They do have a variant that have only bayonet lug instead factory bipod. But this was specialized (factory) modify. Only seen in competition. HMG: - QJZ-89 (The China lightest HMG ever mass produce service weapon due to a false analysis against NSV HMG. Accuracy was decent, but because it was "lightweight" it does capable to carry the gun alone and can hip fire it if you dare to can withstand the recoil without exoskeleton assist) Launchers: - Carl-Gustav series (A 84mm recoilless rifled launcher that capable to precise hit light target at ease. As long it can snipe at long ranges...) - PF-89 (A heavy recoilless launcher that fire 120mm rocket that can reach further ranges and cause significant threat at any targets. Only problem is the weight, which the only solution is exoskeleton assist)
The AK-12 has the most satisfying firing sounds in this game for me. Even the firing animations for literally every gun has gotten an update so they feel a bit more realistic. Also, I think doing the Iraqi reload like that on the AMD-65 and PM md. 63 won't work because of their built-in vertical grips, which would actually get in the magazine's way.
Now hold shift and move 1 meter to any direction to see what the shooting really is. The soldiers in the game feel like they are holding a weapon first time in their life.
THIS. As much as I welcome some changes in the weapon handling, the shooting...omg...Im just regular gamer who sometimes visits shooting ranges and I can hold gun better while firing than these soldiers in Squad
yeah it's just the soldier checking if the magazine is ready to be used (if it wasn't it'd probably be broken, too dirty, or an empty magazine if he accidentally picked one up)
@@polskabalaclava Soldiers never do anything how its trained like in heat of battle. not even trigger discipline. This game however, displays correct drilled instances of what to do with your gun
@@Lord_Tomiak well the M4/M4a1 reload seems to be exactly how it should be, no unnecessary movements or being too casual, but some other guns have the issue of reloading like you’re at a shooting range.
I don't think theres enough buttons on a controller. At minimum you need movement, stance, aiming, weapon steadying, reloading, weapon select, 2 voice com buttons and a resighting weapons.
Kinda makes sense when you consider the state of modern warfare. Rifles are just more practical for an infantry setting. During WWII, SMGs fulfilled the role of lightweight CQC for a squad of bolt action rifles (or in the case of the us, semi auto). Nowadays they usually find a place in Special forces such as swat or military. Acting As small, low caliber, CQC weapon for tight spaces (and for law enforcement I guess it's less likely to off your suspect). Which is the polar opposite for infantry And they are also made further redundant in an infantry setting by modular parts. Best example being when I was in basic our M4s had collapsible stocks for CQC
Are you live under the rock or something? SMGs been obsolete for quite some time now and an intermediate caliber rifle is pretty much can fulfill every infantry role in the battlefield if you need a short range weapon ,just get a shorter rifle, 5.56 and 5.45 are more powerfull and can still touch someone further out than a 9mm SMG like the mk18 and aks 74u
@@brandondesroches8955 yes this is a videogame, but this actually trying to replicate real life armies, and battle scenarios, i suggest you should try Call of Duty
Slow and chill is not a good thing when there’s a dude 3 feet in front of you who’s about to mag dump you and your dude is just casually inspecting the magazine of his weapon to check the ammo or soemhting
Yeah unfortunately this is a common thing in tactical shooters, I agree they do tend to be a bit too lengthy. Same in Insurgency Sandstorm, Hell Let Loose, Squad and Squad 44 which used to be Post Scriptum and if not a few others. Looks good though, just odd when you think of it, sure doesn’t have to be super quick but I know I’d be loading my firearm a hell of a lot faster than that if I’m under fire in a fox hole. TDLR There’s no urgency to the reloads, especially in games like Insurgency Sandstorm.
This game has a lot of cool guns, shame I never really got familiar with any of them. I kept having to play random factions with different loadouts. If I could have agency over my gear and go in as a PMC I think that'd be way better. It's a shame games with assets like this end up being so niche, just because they make themselves more difficult to enjoy. Arma was another one. If you wanna be PMC with the gear you want, you gotta mod,. that already filters out more than 90% of people.
Ah yes, the “casually reloading at the shooting range and not in an active combat zone” reloads that are painfully slow. And no I ain’t asking for overly shaky reloads like cod mw 2019, a bit of urgency to those reloads would be nice)
They’re reloading at about the speed you would see in combat. Unless you are clearing rooms there’s no real rush to reload and even then you would announce that you are loading and someone in your squad would cover your sector so you can reload. It’s not a race….
@@polskabalaclava Dude…have you even served? I was an infantryman and have done my fair share of weapons handling and reloading. It’s funny because when I was a boot and later when I had boots who thought that reloading fast equaled better they would fuck up more than the people who take their time. No one is saying to be slow but rushing causes failure. The only unrealistic part of these reloads are the having to look at the magazine before loading.
@@really_dont_know1681 oh, well you could’ve mentioned that earlier, idk if you’ve been in any combat before but this is more from other countries combat footage I’ve seen online and they tend to reload with a lot more urgency compared to squad, I mean yeah the “looking at magazine” part is unnecessary but your soldier looks like he reloads at a shooting range, imo
If you play it slowly and tactically it isnt that bad, but i have to agree that most civilians would probably handle the guns better than the soldiers in squad
@@polskabalaclava slugs, and there are definitely city environments that buckshot could thrive in, and or they can make more urban environments, I don’t think they have too do any of this but shotguns were most certainly used in the war on terror and I think is a damn shame to exclude.
