Square Enix invited me to participate in the worlds first preview of Visions of Mana and I was genuinely surprised by it. The gameplay is a huge selling point for me and I loved what I saw from this early build. I can only imagine what the end game will be like too!

FF16 was an embarrassment. Thankfully, YoshiP will not be part of the FF17 dev team. At least the FF7 Remake is amazing.

The Trials of Mana Remake is great. You just have to make sure that you play on the hardest difficulty, and play on the harder difficulties when you get finished with that.

So glad that you are into this game too. I started watching you at FF7 ReMake. Start with Secret of Mana. That was the best imo. I grew up playing it along with the Final Fantasy series. These returning characters bring back so much nostalgia for me. You should stream it too. I would love to see your reaction to the old game.

Agreed, though I'd add that I personally prefer the original Secret of Mana, not the remake-ish low budget 3D modelled version. It seems like most others tend to prefer the original as well from what I've seen.

@drumjod I own them all on the Playstation. However, the low-budget voice acting irritated me. Everything else seemed fine, imo. I'll be honest too, I've only beat the Secret of Mana on it. I couldn't get back into the others.

Wahhh this reminds me of Ni No Kuni 2 which was a very decent and fun game! Didnt quite understand the hate on the game, only that people dogged on it only cos Studio Ghibli wasnt involved on anymore, but to be honest the combar system in 2 was actually better than 1 😆 and with the inclusion of higgledies it made it so much more fun. Plus, I think it had the "ATB" bar or orbs system before Remake did. I really loved it.

Overall there's something "Snes" about Mana series, which seems intentional. There's some experimental aspect to it which I felt in Trials of Mana remake and this seems to extend from that. I'm liking what they've come up with.

Secret of Mana the SNES title and version ( the 3D remake is a failure imo) is my long time favorite game (FFVII Is taking it away now, but it was SoM for a while). Trials of Mana is the remake (a good one this time) of the third installment of the series, originally only available in Japan on SNES. To start today, I'd adive going with Trials of Mana first (stories aren"t connected to each other like in Final Fantasy). Then do SoM, the SNES version for full nostalgia trip ^^ Legend of Mana is also good, but a bit different than the others.

I like to go the wrong way on purpose to look for treasure chests or monsters to fight before I go to the area I should.

Awesome (p)review. I already had the game on my Steam wishlist, now I'm 99% certain I want to pre-order the game when that becomes possible. I didn't realize you were completely new to the mana series. I've been into it since Secret of Mana for the SNES. If you want to play that one, try to find a 2d version - the 3d remake looks nicer, but ruined the ally AI (if you have a Nintendo Switch, there's a "Collection of Mana" which probably includes the 2d version).

When I saw this game being shown by SE, I was happy. I think I played Secrets of Mana on PS1 Combos in that game were good, so I expect Visions of Mana to be fun as well. SE really needs to push cute games like this and Star ocean more. Yet, I still miss Aya Brea.

Never seen much of this series before just heard about the series but this game looks like a fun, cozy and intriguing rpg. Anybody know how long to expect this game to be? A 50-60hr rpg looks perfect but please let me know

They really took what worked in Trials of Mana in improved it a 20 times. I loved Trials of Mana, I like Secret of Mana remake because it was nostalgic and would have went insane had they did it like this! It's a shame Echoes of Mana the gacha didn't survive long, but they could always turn it into a main line game. If they do another remake of the series I hope they do the offshoot Secret of Evermore, they really could expand that game and make it even more interesting. This looks simply amazing and will definitely be watching for this one.

Most Mana games do NOT having Cooking in game at all even the Previous game didn't and while you can still sell items most sell for crap.

It's none of these, these are serious mental illnesses. Checking every nook and cranny is just how you play an RPG. Seeing a friend blown up by an IED will give you PTSD, not missing an item in a video game.

My only problem is that Square Enix show games way to early just look at KH4 and DQ12 where are those games it’s been almost 2YRS and nothing on those games.
