This is another one of our Family recipes; we have been making it mostly at Christmas time since 2001. Our sons loved everything Chocolate and Peanut Butter so we are pleased to share this with you. It is quick and easy with no oven bake time. We hope you try this one and let us know how your family likes it.
Squares, Peanut Butter
(Excellent Recipe made since 2001)
Base Ingredients
¼ cup margarine
1 cup peanut butter, light
1 cup icing sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla
3 ¼ cups Special K cereal or Rice Krispies
Topping ingredients
2 tbsp. margarine
1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Base:
Melt margarine in large pot at medium-low heat. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, icing sugar, vanilla and Special K mixing well. Stir until everything is completely coated and then press firmly into an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 square pan.
Topping:
Melt 2 tbsp. margarine at medium heat and add 1 cup chocolate chips. Turn off heat and mix well. Spread over top of cooled peanut butter base. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut into squares.
