The commentary makes it sound like Gaultier was undeserving and had an easier route through to the final but take nothing away from him, just watch the earlier rounds where Gaultier blitzed through opponents in no time and just had a freshness and a fitness level ahead of his opponent the entire way through. Even Ashour carrying a slight niggle is no pushover and still had to be overcome. Hats of to Gaultier for deservedly winning this tournament.

That's antiklimax. But Gaultier sure did deserve it this tournament.

The long semi final did for Nick Matthew. He couldn't raise a gallop. Elshorbagy would have lost the final just as badly. Both players were spent.
