New 1RM PR. This moved significantly better than my last 1RM PR of 445 lb back in November 2020. I controlled my positioning in the descent much better, which lead to a surprisingly easy lift. I think this is the best technique I've ever demonstrated while doing a 1RM PR attempt. There are a lot of reasons behind this, the main one being training tons of tempo pause squats.

Does doing an incline push up without going lower and lower help get to and actual push up or do I need something I can go lower on

It's important to gradually reduce the height of the incline over time, because decreasing the height essentially "adds more weight" to the push-up. This progressive increase in challenge is a fundamental component of gaining strength in any exercise.
