By identifying it was from the plunger, then I think that sound is also the resonance of the holo carbon shaft, and the grinding sound of the plunger and putter shaft Nice finding and thank you very much. I will lubricate mine now
I shoot recurve and I've never heard this, not with my bow, not at competitions, not practicing with other archers.... I didn't know this was even a thing 🤣
Start listening for it… just yesterday at an outdoor qualifier I heard it: to the right of me, three targets down… and I was biting my tongue coz I wanted to say something but the kid was already very stressed out… so I waited till we were done but he took off before I could give him this hint…
Hey, i had the same Problem. My Coach told me to use Acetone-free nail polish remover to clean the button. Its propably some Carbondust or something from the arrows. I wouldnt add something.
Around my neck of the woods we bow hunters have learned to rub your index finger along side of your nose and then rub the oil on the rest or get rid of that metal rest.
Yes… oil from skin can serve as a lubricant. But it’s not the rest, the issue was in the plunger hard plastic material. Silicone lubricant should last longer and we carry that around anyways for target archery.
Nice! Yeah… definitely a problem with modern bows and carbon arrows… longbow are pretty interesting as well. In Pasadena, PRA used to have a longbow making class…
The traditional answer is calf skin on the striker and rest. Keeps it all nice n quiet so you don't startle your quarry. Less friction is usually good anyways
Yes… for Traditional archery shooting off the rest… but in this case, i rely on a spring plunger to help keep the arrow aligned and that’s what the problem was…
This is not a common problem… and I have never seen anyone really talk about it… hence why I made the video… Issue is that this is a change to the same components I’ve been shooting with for years… so it’s possible that something else might be at play…
@@bobbynishi I didn't say common problem. I said it's common sense. I don't know why someone struggle to find the squeak sound while only 3 things rubbing the arrow. Lube that 3 and no squek anymore. 🤔 Anyway, I'm sure video will help someone.
