Just cleaned my windows after watching your vids and they've turned out great for, the first time ever. Using dish soap and applying it directly to the washer makes a massive difference, especially as I'm not too sharp with the squeegee technique at the moment and leave a few smears. The difference now is that the smears are drops of water on clean glass and just wipe off with my buffing cloth. Cheers.

Because of you, I just purchased $300 of tools. I have a water fed pole, but I felt that I needed to have more than one way of cleaning windows. Thanks to one of your videos, you demonstrated how a water fed pole may not get the window or frame as clean as it should. Now all i need to do is practice 🙂
@TradMan
@TradMan 2 года назад
Superb 😉 Yeah nothing beats a nose to glass finish if you can safely access the windows. Wfp is a good tool for high level work you can't get to trad or for awkward windows located in places you can't get access. Some folks think wfp is a magic stick that can remove anything. Unfortunately that's not the case. Everytime I inspect windows after using the wfp, I find I can still get more off the glass/frames with traditional tools and products. Each to there own though. Stick in buddy and you'll get amazing results.

@TRAD - MAN THE WINDOW CLEANER so today I tried to clean my windows for the first time using my new squeegees. I purchased the moerman EXCELERATOR 2.0. You make it look easy. I noticed steaks on the window. Of course,I know I need to practice, but what am I doing wrong? I purchased the unger green blades, but i haven't used them yet because I don't want to practice on expensive blades. I will continue to practice with the liquidator 2.0 that I purchased.
@TradMan

The rubber that comes with the tool is not very good I'm afraid. You'll get better results with Unger green. Then use the methods I do in the video. Practice practice practice
@mono6906

Always interesting... in winter, outside, do you prefer the green rubber rather than the soft rubber of Unger ? (or another) ; When the glass is very dirty, stubborn stains, I do appreciate the stripwasher pad strip , very efficient and surprisingly the pad side makes more foam !

@TradMan

I still use it buddy. Overall its very good. The only flaw I would say like most boabs is don't leave your squeegees in it overnight or you'll get an indent in the rubber from the squeegee partition. I wish they had made a softer divider to separate the squeegees. Apart from that it's fit for purpose

Love your videos! I am a “Home Gamer/DIYer”. I have learned a lot from your videos. I have started cleaning my windows, my girlfriends, my Mom’s, my sister’s windows, etc. I find it almost meditative and hugely rewarding as you get immediate gratification on the difference you have made. I would like to see how you deal with small, say as small as 4X4 inch or multiple angled wood framed windows. They take me forever and I always seem to have to go back and go over them with a cloth. I use the Ettore DIY stuff/equipment. Best to you, Trad Girl and the family.

I'm totally hooked! Glad I found this video. I live in a 50 year old single wide with cheap-remodeled windows that are in big need of cleaning, so I'm on Amazon right now looking at squeegees. I'm subscribed! I have a few questions, and maybe I missed it: so there is no cleaning solution in the bucket, correct? Just water? And you want to make the applicator wet first before you do this, correct? And finally, how often do I rinse the applicator? I have 8 windows on my house. Thanks!
@TradMan

Yeah just water in the bucket. Dish washing soap on to the applicator. Saturate washer with water again when it starts to become more soap than water.

Hi Trad, another great tutorial. I've found by adding Mr Muscle glass cleaner (other glass cleaners avl) to the water and a squirt to the applicator also gives good result by vapourising the water away cutting down on final detail of water marks around the edge of the glass and frame. have you or others any thoughts or tried this?

Hello Trad-Man! I’ve got a question. What’s the difference between a wide body channel? And, I’m currently using a standard Unger handle with a brass Chanel and I’ve cut my rubber like 3mm wider than the Chanel and I have like.. 5-6mm detailing? What am I doing wrong?
@TradMan
@TradMan 5 месяцев назад
Wide body squeegees were designed to distribute the pressure from the handle to the ends of the channel better on larger sizes of channels. Most squeegees leave detailing unless your using something like the Moerman Liquidator squeegee.

Hey @TradMan, At 5:50 you talk about cutting in. Why is it important to cut in, instead of just starting the squeegi on the side corner of the surface?
@TradMan
@TradMan 11 дней назад
Good question 😊 Cutting in at the start leaves no solution behind whereas putting your squeegee on the window and pulling accross / or down leaves solution behind which you would have to double back and squeegee off. Hopefully that makes sense. Warm regards TM 😎

Interesting, i do this method on occasions, but find out here on the Costa del sol, it can be a tad warm and the solution can dry up a bit quick, i like plenty of water, might give it a go when it cools down a bit, was still 27 today, 4hrs out in it with the sun blasting in my face clean 80 odd glass balustrades both sides, my poor old body was suffering 😀, ive just subscribed even though ive been cleaning windows here 23 years, and one handed at the moment until my left hand recovers from an operation

Try Unger window solution. It's one cap per gallon. In dry conditions add an additional cap if your squeegie skips or sticks. Very slippy. I haven't used dish soap in three years. I've saved money but it takes time to find the right solution blend. The trick is use only what you need to. If you're sticking with dishwasher have a rinse bucket nearby to rinse out excess soap or it's possible you are adding too much soap too often use less water on your squeegee bring it out add a small amount of soap and use that amount till the mop is nearly dry or is no longer able to adequately slip the window.

Do you just wipe of the excess soap that leaks onto the window frame?
@TradMan

Yeah any soap on the frame is ideally wiped off although on maintenance cleans if you have already wiped the frame, a little soap left on the sides won't do any harm and will soon disappear 😉

Yeah squeeze out some of the water from the applicator so it's not as saturated as you would have it outside.

Do it in sections, top half first. Use a combination tool instead of using a separate washer and squeegee. I use the moerman Excelerator squeegee with fliq pad washer.
