I had a pretty shitty day and watching this video kept me entertained for half an hour and restored my faith on humanity a little bit more. I've never supported a youtuber on Patreon before, but I think you might be the first once my economical situation allows it. You deserve it.

2:22 - Not just the carrott. Notice the musical and light play as the money drops: It is the same kind of sound and visual play as slot machines in casinos; and which is often used by game apps on cell phones. Those kind of displays are not for fun but have been designed over the years and decades especially to hook gambling addicts and casinos purposefully put the slots machine at the entrances/exits to make sure that visitors get hooked by them. There is a lot of manipulitive psychology at play here on the part of whoever runs the game (Including the fact that there were no Triangle gunmen in to greet the players in the first episode, only worker circles and supervisor Squares, as well giving the players the illusion of choice by letting them abandon the game by vote only to return to their misery in the outside world; where their fate my be worse than death... Sneaky bastards!) Indeed, it was amazing writing to have them vote to leave as, if we explore the other option, had the vote been to stay: We would have had zero sympathy for the majority of the players who voted to stay and the minority who would have voted to leave would have continuously been begging for another vote to leave. In either case, it does not endear the characters to the audience. But now, we have seen what awaits many of them outside, so we can relate with many of the struggles that they would have to go through if they stayed out of the game and we will be able to root for them in the next episodes. Fantastic writing!

i think one of the reasons i like this show so much is how realisticly the financial struggles are portrayed and i love your commentary so far!! and i hope you'll get an apartment of your own soon, fingers crossed

I really liked this ep, and I have heard some people say they felt it slowed down the momentum. I so disagree. I think it was critical in showing the stakes, what the players were facing on the outside, and to make the point that even after seeing the first game, even after getting out, nearly all of them came back knowing they had a high probability of dying. It was so powerful.

I think I’d stay in the game myself, for similar reasons to the old man; if you’re just sitting there waiting to die, might as well risk it all for something huge. Especially since here you’re only gambling with your own life, as opposed to gathering debt irl which might inconvenience your family if you don’t pay up. Also I think it’s actually a higher chance for the characters right now :) 1/456 chance to win was at the start, but back then they didn’t know the stakes. Now, coming back, the odds would be somewhere between 1/101 and 1/201 :) definitely tempting for people who live in “hell”

I wish you will always keep that in mind about sang woo. He is a nice man, but reasonable and realistic too. He is my favorite in this series

There is a debate that Gi hyun is pronounced Ki Hyun as the gi is pronounced K in korean but am not sure about that.

I appreciated they gave us a chance to really get to know the background of the main characters in this episode, it definitely gets us to root for multiple of the characters. I was rooting for Gihun, 067 & Ali (199) at this point, tho I realised how bloodthirsty I was to get back into the games! I love this kind of genre tbh 😅 [211102]

I think the reason it hit 100/100 also is because no one really wanted to make that choice to keep people or let them go so they subconsciously kept it level as possible leaving it to final vote (not their choice) and I like to think the old man thinks about it in sense just because i'm 100% going to die anyways these 100 people want to leave so its only fair i let them/join them kinda thing
