She does the clicky hand for the lighter not the show him how to use it, but to show him that she dropped it for him on purpose and it wasn't accidental. She's trying to get into his good graces
"Why do some people got easy shapes while we all get shitty umbrellas, huh?" Man, I love the writing in this show. Only noticed this line while watching this reaction.
When they showed the big playground area I really thought it was going to a life size version of the board game Mouse Trap. I loved playing that as a kid, it was awesome lol
I binged this I two days when it came out and was blown away. Now I just started watching again with my wife and watching her reactions, which are very different from mine. Upon rewatching this, there are so many subtle cues that tease things that will happen later in the show. So well made!
“I think if you really get it wet in there” “Think you should be spitting on it a little bit?” “Smart coming from behind” “He came from behind” Jay and Adam saying those things completely straight faced is almost as impressive as Gi-Hun getting that umbrella out 🤣🤣🤣 Man I never get tired of Jay’s improv group name jokes 🤣 20:15 dammit Jay, now Manson’s version of Personal Jesus is playing in my head
5:58 FOR REAL. I just read today that Vans said the sales on their classic whites SHOT UP this quarter. Everybody gonna be dressing for Squid Game this Halloween 😂
i found you guys through your mandalorian reaction and now you're by far my favourite reaction chanel! I love how genuine and excited you always are :D
The square guy who got killed was the one who spoke to the undercover cop wanting a word with him after the game, and the same cop took the square guy's mask in the end.
Watching the 1st two games, it does seem like the only rules to follow were the instruction given and result produced. And whatever methods the players used doesn’t really seem to matter to the black coat guy or the pink shirt ppl. For the 1st game some ppl were using other ppl’s body to prevent detection, and for the second game we have players using lighters, their saliva to form the shapes given. it does feel like the game moderator is aware of what is happening and allows for it to happen, as long as the players follow through w the basic instruction. Plus the basic instructions was actually very vague (1st game ‘you can move forward while it shouts green light red light. If your movement is detected, you’ll be eliminated”. 2nd game ‘the shape you have chosen is the shapes you must piece out’) it almost seemed intentional that they’ve left the instructions to be vague. But the players might not aware of that, which causes them to be more nervous about trying out diff methods beyond the given instructions. In a way the game moderator followed through with the idea of a ‘democratic system’ mentioned in ep 2. Where the players have a certain “autonomy”; choosing to be in this place; choosing to be part of the game or to terminate it by votes; choosing the shapes of the honeycomb; using their own methods to win the games. Though of course, there is a sense of free will involved, there is also a sense of manipulation in choosing a very specific grp of desperate ppl at the same time…
That’s true and super interesting. And it’s interesting to see which people think outside the box to complete the game and who sticks the rules. It’s like how far are you willing/allowed to go? I’d just eat the honeycomb around my shape.
So far that's 2 Wayne's World references from Jay. Funny enough both references are from the same scene in Wayne's World. Love you guys. Also, forgot to mention the Holy Grail moment in your first episode was fire!
@@pReviewd It wasn't easy. Obviously majority of us were not prepared to take on such an intense and hefty show without warning, but it's worth the extra effort. Just happy you guys are joining the fun!
The green track suit comment. When my Dad was stationed in Korea he got 2 of us custom track suits. My brother's was Green and White and easily could have passed for these. Mine was red, white and blue with stars (not unlike Evil Knievel) but mostly red.
At my jr high and high school we played Bombardment. It's dodge ball, but with smaller balls and at 10x the speed thrown. So the baseball players had all of the advantages and we'd leave gym class covered in welts and bruises. The bleachers would rattle and shake when the balls would hit them. I hated it.
So with regards to a few "no one sees that?" moments in the games, like using the lighter, I think the enforcers see but just don't give a shit. There aren't any 'no cheating' rules, right? You just have to play by any means.
@@ghostlee6434 so what if they did the world would be boring if everyone acted a certain/the same way to the same things at the same moments we aren't machines everybody else already sheds tears during that part god forbid somebody does something different 🙄😒
I somehow remembered playing pin elimination way back when, when you guys were talking about it. Also in regards to the square scooters that Jay was talking about, back in elementary school we played the game Titanic a couple times with the scooters where they'd put mats in the middle of the court and scatter the foam noodles and a few scooters around the area. I think the mats represented the Titanic and basically you had to be creative and work as a team to get from point A to point B. It was like the floor is lava but you imagined you were on the Titanic as it was sinking and the other half of your team was trying to get you over to the lifeboats and whichever team got all of their guys to safety first, won. It was really fun
Glad to be here early. I love watching your reactions. I am so glad you are watching Squid Game, and in Korean now. The rest of the season is a doozy!! Enjoy
So it took Jay yelling at me to subscribe for me to actually do it... not sure what that says about me as a person, but I'm officially subscribed at least!
Jay - he seems like he could “talk” his way outta of anything or into any group… * also just noticed he’s becoming more aggressive with the non-subscribers 🤔 gives him an edge over Adam’s please & thank you’s… (& coming from a Canadian 🇨🇦🍑 that says A LOT)!
@@elysebaker7368 I agree..... but I'm not totally convinced. Sometimes it's those "nice guys" being pushed too far that you have to worry about. I could see Adam unleashing the beast
So I thought I wouldn't enjoy the show but watching it as reaction is great. Also we've played pin elimination in primary-mid school sports. Greetings from Switzerland :D
I have absolutely 0 channels I follow or watch religiously that I have the bell clicked. I always subscribe. Since the sub means nothing to us but easy access, I feel for you guys. You will be my first bell 🔔 click. Please keep the content coming. You guys are truly awesome.
Wow my dudes 🤨….40% aren’t subbed? Guys, that’s actually pretty damn good ratio! Sad but true😅 But anyways, this was ( as usual😏 ) awesome, had me laughing throughout! Thanks for that my dudes👍❗️
We did the pin elimination game in gym class! And we had the little square scooters for games - I also remember running over my fingers.... Not sure what crab apple game is though? (NY elementary school)
I am a korean. I think you knew for the first time while watching this movie, but the scene where you suck candy with your tongue...You remember, right? In fact, it has a painful history in Korea. Now the kids don't know what the candy is. Thirty years and forty years ago, Korea was a poor country. So the children could not eat delicious snacks or candy. However, in front of elementary school, there was a grandmother and grandfather who made and sold the sugar candy at a low price. I wish you knew this movie more deeply.
Uh that’s a nice information but I don’t think them knowing that would have changed anything. What’re they supposed to do with a candy’s origin story 😂
Just so you know, you shouldn't watch the CC subtitles, they're based on the English dub and a lot of them are wrong and far worse than the Korean to english subs.
Hell yeah! I like that you guys aren’t refraining from calling this series out on its many ridiculous scenes! This is my personal opinion (but I just KNOW that ppl are gonna get mad 🤣) but I think Squid Game is overrated. It’s a pretty entertaining show but that’s it, and there’s nothing novel or “deep” about it tbh. However, so far I’m having a blast watching short clips from the series combined with your reaction and banter! 👍🏼
