If ever you buy a different bass in the future, a suggestion could be to look up the model of the bass than spec sheet, I’ve found it’s helped on a bass that didn’t really have a review on yt

Have you ever try to build a guitar? I’m planning to do my first „full” project to make a Jagstang body from scrap wood, mustang pickguard and some squier neck lying around. I think building a whole (body mostly, paiting etc.), will be more satoafying than buying a diy kit. Waiting for new videos, im addicted!👌

Great budget bass. Also a good building block to add on or swap out Fender necks - the guitar on its' own is a very solid instrument...If you're in the market for one, it's a can't miss....

Thank you for this video. Was looking at one for this Christmas. Went to local guitar shop and watched sales assistant play one (respecting social distancing). Wasn't allowed to try it myself. He didn't try different tones and that. It's got some great tones. Would love to try it through my rig/set up.

I have this bass its pretty awesome. I repainted it red with gold pickguard gold Bridge and threw on some seymour duncan pickups. Its a pretty cool bass. I call it the "iron man". Red and gold.

I love the versatility and the modern bass tone that only a nice PJ bass can deliver with both pickups in unison, and this model seems to have it all. I still have an old Aria Pro which still sounds great but lacks a little in the confort department, I'm looking for an upgrade and this model seems to be a good choice. Nice review!

The split humbucker is amazing!! i heard more definition and "true" tone. the Jazz bridge is awesome, but sounds a bit twangy? I do love both for their purpose, i just really dig that classic beef!!!

Race Red is the new Fiesta Red. ....which keeps on getting in my mind everytime I come across one of those Affinity Teles. Such a beautiful color for a Fender/Squier.

@@theguitarmanifesto You are right, but I have not seen it outside the Custom Shop models.... I believe there was a Road Worn P Bass a few years back. They used Torino Red in the Player series... It is just the closest thing I can think of.

I have the short scale jaguar bass. It's a fine instrument for the money in my opinion. Some people complain about the very weak and thin Single Coil. I think my next bass is going to be an used Classic vibe. Would be cool if you could demo one of the classic vibes in the future

I just bought the Squier JP bass. After getting the bass professionally set up and new strings it plays just as nice as some of the fender basses. It has more personality with Rotosound 66 Bass Strings

Hell yeah bro. I was wondering over the weekend if you had gotten this yet. That red looks almost orange. Like a red orange. Looks alot different from the photos online. I'd definitely look into swapping the pickups if I had one of these. They were a bit thin sounding to me.

These Squier P-Jazz basses are Precision basses, aren't they, in that they don't have the tapered neck of a Jazz bass? Once you try a Jazz bass the tapered neck feels amazing. Lovely garish red colour and the best of both world's Fender pickup-wise! A good bargain if it's part of a starter pack too.

Do you think it would be good as a first bass? I love its sound very much! My dad loves playing acoustic guitar so maybe that will help him understand how much I want to learn bass since he likes music too😅 (I'd play for it since I have a job since a few weeks) I think 15 is a pretty good age for starting😅 I hope he will allow me to buy it and not complain that I'm wasting my money, I've been dreaming of learning bass since many years now😅

The 2021 Serie Squier Precision PJ Bass have Ceramic Single-Coil Jazz Bass and Ceramic Split Single-Coil. This one at the demo from the last Serie have Ceramics Pickups as well? Tks!

Bravo for the video. What do you think about the scale lenght? I see that it is shorter than a Fender Precision bass (from 34" to 30"). Does it have an influence on the sound, comfort of playing, or range between the lower and the higher notes? Thanks in advance?

All the reviews of these I see state it has an alder body, but most the vendor websites list the body as Poplar. was that a change that was made recently? Or are reviewers just assuming the body material?

Man the new Squires are not bad basses. Back 30 years ago when I was a broke teen bassist, I could only play the cheap crap and you could tell. Now, I’d put the affinity basses against any paid price basses out there.

I was thinking about getting one of these for my first bass but everyone keeps telling me to avoid it and instead get a classic vibe (I think I may get a Mustang bass instead) thoughts??

I'd go for a Classic Vibe bass as Squier Affinity basses don't seem to like cold, damp houses (wot guitars do?) very much and the truss rod on my Affinity P-Bass refuses to respond to adjustments. If yer serious about playing bass, plump for the CV. If you want a cheap guitar, go for the Affinity. Just my two pen' orth.

I wish Squier would make a 5 string variant of this. I am looking for a good starter bass, but literally all of the music I listen to/want to play requires a 5 string. I think I may go for a Jackson JS3V Spectra in Walnut Satin, it seems like a great buy.

Just got the sunburst version delivered last night from them. Having to slowly make truss rod adjustments because the lower frets had horrible buzz with no space between the strings and higher frets when you play them, but that may be because it was on the truck out for delivery three full days before it was delivered, plus whatever was done with it over the weekend and it's cool and wet weather here. After the second adjustment, it's starting to be playable except really near the headstock, though, and I like it.

Can you try to describe me that red finish? yours look like a salmon red or orange red, and that's exactly what i'm looking for, but on pictures i saw this bass with a really kinda fluo red. so how do you describe your model's red color?

Interesting. Individually the pickups sound great, absolutely P and J. But mixed together they don't work at all. So this really is two classic basses in one, but never the twain shall meet.
