shielding the output can be a bit tricky when the TS cable tip will hit the shield that's been grounded, it will not make a sound cause it's been shorted...just like what a kill switch does.
Hello my friend, congratulations for the excellent job !!! May I ask you what grits of sandpaper is needed after fret dressing ,for removing scratches and hand polishing before you use a dremel buffing wheel at the end? Thank you in advance
Very nice tool collection from Stewmac. Can you tell why you did not sand the fretboard to correct radius before installing new frets? Some radius variation is probably there but did it go away with radius block leveling?
Hi, few years ago I didn't have enough tools to do finishing job on maple fretboards. Please, watch my recently uploaded videos my tools are almost complete.
What tool were you using to cut the new fret ends? They seam to cut through SS pretty easily, any cutters I try don’t do as good of a job as the ones you’re using here. I’ve resorted to using a dremel and cutting wheel to cut SS frets and I use it to cut off the fret tangs also.
Very nice. Would love to see a video on your tools or links for each of them. Where did you get that block that holds the frets while you work, one by one? Can't tell if it is home made or commerical.
Hey bro this is such an informative video. I wanted to know the specs of your new fret wire. I want to refret my stratocaster with stainless stell frets. I have my eyes on frets with 0.51 inch crown height And width 0.114 inches. Detailed specs- Tang Height: 1.7mm (0.067 inch) Tang Width: 0.6mm (0.024 inch) Stud Width: 0.95mm (0.037 inch) Stud Space: 2.5mm (0.098 inch) This is unlike the Fender medium Jumbo (. 106″ width x . 036″ height). Would I be able to refret my guitar wih nee stainless steel frets with the above mentioned specs? Please do help. Regards, Leo
