Excellent review, and great bass. They have had a hit with the Debut Stratocasters, so it's time to see Precision Basses, Jazz Basses, and Telecasters get the same attention.
The cutout in the body for forearm comfort is called a front contour...these basses seem a little better than the starcaster series fender was selling through walmart 20 years ago, though I'd have to polish that satin finish to a semigloss
Been thinking about buying this bass, but i've heard from one person that the pickups are placed differently from how most P-basses have them. Do you have another P bass around to compare them?
I'm choosing my first bass. If you had to pick one between this and the Affinity at their actual prices, which would you choose? Anyway, nice review. Thanks.
@@kingsecho3351 I'm not saying they are terrible, I'm sure yours is good. My 2 are fine as well. It's just that out of all my Squiers, the 2 affinities are my least favorite of the bunch.
Nice Looking Squier(Fender)Debut Series Precision Bass-Have you played a Squier Mini P-Bass or a Fender Player II Jazz Bass? I own a Squier Mini P-Bass myself
This or slightly more for the Squier Sonic? I'm thinking of adding a 34-inch scale bass as my two basses now are both short scale. I want to learn some Motown-type songs and I think a P-Bass is better suited for that sound. I played a Squier Affinity PJ and I wasn't that impressed. I did play a Sonic and I think it had the sound I'm seeking.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm afraid I'm not the best person to ask as I am a 5 string player exclusively, so all 4 stringers feel like broomsticks to me. That being said, I will say it is one of the most fun 4 strings I've held in my hands (second to a Lakland DJ4, and ahead of the Affinity Precision I had a few years ago). Front to back depth seems good to me, but maybe it's thick for a 4 string, I'm not sure. I already loaned the bass out, or else I'd take some measurements for you.
I bought this Debut bass and I also own two Fender MIM Jazz basses. In my hands, the necks are the same. I could not feel a difference. And I really like the neck on the debut P Bass. IOW, it's a P bass with a J neck. I'm very pleased.
Great review my friend and I'm proper sold. Do you know if they all have a matt/satin finish ? .I'm thinking of getting my son one but I know he's not crazy about matt/satin finishes
Thank you for the feedback! All the Debut series are matte/satin finish. If you want a gloss finish you have to step up to the Sonic series for a little more money. I'm not 100% sure, but other than the finish I think they are the same bass.
Looking for good budget guitars ❓ Tease Guitar.. . great company and customer service ❗ I don't do " budget" guitars BUT Torsten's (owner) view of customer service is great. It got me to buy a Tease SBH-HD guitar, actually got 2. What the guitar cost and what it is, amazing ‼️ I'm impressed with Tease Guitar.
Good question. The main difference is the Affinity has a J pickup added and different color/finish options. I "think" the Affinity has regular sized control pots too, whereas the Debut has mini pots. Beyond that, I'm not too sure. Tuners on Affinity seemed better quality - they are the same kind, so maybe the materials are a lesser metal, or the tolerances are different, but Debut tuners are really bad. They have been holding tune fine, just very hard to get tuned up due to all the slop in them.
Hi I'm from England I have a Glary Jazz bass and I'm delighted with it had it for couple of years I will probably get one of those p basses already got a debut strat excellent 👍 getting the set lol when available over here good luck.
For that price I don't see a reason to buy anything else in the budget pbass category. It's also a quick $100 if you want to sell it while you'll never get rid of a Glarry.
