I have a 2x4 5 inches Long with a screw drilled through the bottom to put a corn cob on it. Squirrels love it!

Wow!! You took something sooooooo easy and made it look really hard to build. 4 pieces of wood should take you no longer then 3 minutes to assemble. Also you should use outdoor glue. Titebond III.

That is a great little project, perfect for the kids. Heck perfect for any beginning woodworker. And I can see it as a great seller for the folks setting up shop at craft fairs. Easily pull in $20 each.

I use those cedar fence pickets for all the bird feeders, bird houses, etc that I make for outside. Excellent wood for projects.

Kevin, is it OK to stack firewood in the garage? Does the wood have termites by any chance? Just wondering after seeing you pull the wood out of the forest? I have always been told not to stack wood anywhere near the house or against an outbuilding.
