A good video, but allow me one critique. Your voice is quite low, but the music is very loud. This forces me to keep a finger on the mouse to raise the volume to hear what you say, then lower it again when the music starts. For those of us who watch such videos late nights, this can be very disturbing to others who may want to sleep, both in house, and neighbors.
Thank you for making that video! But one concern: 120v can kill people or pets (cats, dogs) if they get across it. If you put a resistor in line with the hot lead of 150,000 ohm (150k) -220,000 ohms (220k) it will limit the current to just a good hard jolt. I'm going to duplicate your idea but on a plastic wrap around my avocado tree trunk... and since I have a dog and an occasional visiting family that has a toddler I will *definitely* have that safety resistor in line.
@@hereshopengarage2790 Fuses take time to blow and don't limit the current. You'll be dead first. The resistor I suggested limits the current to just a hard jolt level.
I'm somewhat confused in HOW you did this with a wire you just plug in, BUT I have a metal pole they are climbing, I saw where someone was creative & streached slinkies up their pole but my tree rats learned how to climb the slinkys, if I take a power strip with a switch to plug the wire into then HOW would I wire each piece of the drop cord TO the pole?
I think it would be well worth making this video again, not in time lapse, so we can hear and see what you are going. Knowing squirrels as I do, I doubt that it would take the little critter very long to work out to avoid the roof, he'll be jumping stright onto a lower point of the feeder in no time, they don't give up easily.
Can I do this with 120v ? I just want to cut off an old extension cord, put a switch in it, and connect it to a metal flower bed. My theory is drive a free screws into the flower bed and connect the hot and neutral to the screws. When appropriate I will switch it on and zap the cock sucker squirrels. My neighborhood is infested and they need to die. If not, I also have an 120ac to 24dc transformer I could use
Be careful. Send me a pm on FB. My most viewed video on Facebook was the world's fastest squirrel. Tube took it down after being up 4 years then started going viral. 3k views in the last day.
@@TejasAutoSalonJasonW I would love to see that video. Searched fb and was not able to find you, the auto salon or the video. Maybe the weenies took it down…
