Gautam Gambhir (GG) equals Greg chappel 2.0. Already his stupid experimentation in BATTING Order started. This is VERY similar to what Greg chappel did moving sachin to no.4 instead of opening.. Ishan kishan , ruturaj gaikwad, sai sudharshan are more technical batsman than virat , gill, dube ... Iam not comparing.. its just a truth that these players can adapt the situation very well . Even vk scored more of his runs in green wickets in odi and his most lf the century came from green wicket ground , i've seen so many times virat struggled a lot in rank turner tracks , and even he lost his ability and form , for further series . Gaikwad, ishan kishan, sai sudarshan, tilak varma is good to go.. because these kinda players can be tested in these type of series only... And their talents will be wasted if not used properly

I think there are a lot of players who deserve additional chances. Some that come to my mind are Gaikwad, Ishaan Kishan, SKY, Samson, Natarajan and I think India should also consider someone like Rinku Singh, Sarfaraz and in fact there is no reason to not try Jaiswal at the top. But more importantly India's pace bowling is a serious worry. In the absence of Bumrah, you have an ageing Shami and a very inconsistent Siraj. Arshdeep Singh is promising and should be given ample opportunities. I think Gill though he has potential possibly gets preferential treatment over someone like say Ishaan Kishan or Gaikwad or Jaiswal.

Technically speaking about the Sri Lanka series - Their prime fast bowlers are injured/not fit to play. They have only spinners in hand to play the series hence the wicket were made to spin which off-late is Indian batting line up's weakness point. Also dropping KL is a big mistake. I personally felt, you can't run Indian team with the mindset of running IPL team/league teams. Other takeaways are SIraj - Need some rest to get back to his form both physically and Mentally Rohit - He is now playing with no burden, he has only one thing - 50 Over World cup in his mind VK - You know no one can point the finger at him as he has shown how to come back and win big games for India Washi - Happy to see his performances at International level, hope we will continue to see him raising up the ranks R.Parag - Mark my words, he is gonna be the next sensation for Team India and I feel he is a generational player. G.G & Team - its a wake up call not sure will they learn from it or not.

Main problem for Indian batsmen is they are more fond of T20 cricket and IPL due to its popularity. I think in following years ODI and test matches will be faded due to IPL and T20 cricket .

Cheeka Sir/ Ani bro our problem I think gone are the times when we had the same team for all conditions. For example India’s best players of spin are SKY, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar and Ruturaj Gaekwad . In SL take such players. For Aus and SA take Sanju, KL Rahul and now Kohli. Pls drop Gill from VC position and Siraj from white ball cricket . India will be fine.

Cheeka, as a ex chairman of selectors, you should be balanced in your comments. 1. This is the first series for new coach. Gambir as we all know is the last guy to show favoritism. 2. Unlike Rahul bhai, he has the balls to call spade a spade. may be, in his mind, he wants tibtake a good hard look with likes of shiva dube, Gill, Shreyas and Siraj who live more by hype than consistent performance. 3. Any coach should be evaluated after an year or so. We know the kind of work Abhishek nayar has done with venkatesh Iyer, rinks, harshit Rana etc. So I am sure that in 1 year time, we will have all overhyped players identified and eliminated and have only quality guys like Ritu, sai sudharshan, washy, KL in the mix for champions trophy.
