Sri Mahaganapathi - Gowla - Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh 

The moment we hear the word concert, the mind wants to imagine an auditorium with rows of seating and quiet audience sitting in rapt attention.
But music is also a celebration and 8th Cross Ganesha Festival in Mysuru organized by Sri Prasanna Vidya Ganapathi Mandali Charitable (SPVGMC) Trust is one such annual music festival established since 1962! A pandal is constructed every year with a section of the road allocated to seat audience and the 10 day long music festival has seen doyens of the music world on its stage since its inception.
This particular video from September 2015 8th Cross Ganesha Festival, Sri Mahaganapthi in Gowla by Muthuswami Dikshitar, carries with it not just the music but the ambience around. It's as if the music has been intertwined with the local soundscape. It just is there! This used to be the way of the olden days where music concerts were held around temples and rasikas were organically exposed to music without having to go seeking it.
