I'm one of the luckiest person. In 2001 ar rahman was in my car I doves him every where in London City. And had a lunch together one of the resident. What a nice human he is.

Dil Se is probably ARR's best album ever. Such a great and straightforward guy. Respect for Srinivas.

At 3:33 when he said "...mujhe to hindi ata hai" with such a smile......i felt so happy dont know why.🙂🙂🙂 Its really surprising thatvARR who did not know even a bit of hindi, composed such fabulous music, and Maniratnam, without knowing hindi created sych a masterpiece. I think this is the beauty of creative world.

Satrangi Re is my all time favourite song from India

Srinivas is a composer himself, so for him to show us this rare insight to ARR. And he is very candid in his views. And I find he has admiration for Gulzar Saheb. I am personally a great fan of Gulzar Saheb and his immense patience and versatility to adapt to all kinds of songs, from what he wrote decades earlier to the kind of songs being written these days. Srinivas himself indicates this when he praises songs of Dil Se. Kudos to ARR and Gulzar who took us to the Oscars

Oh my goodness, what an excellent episode! As a passionate music lover and an avid fan of the Dil Se album, it's so wonderful to hear about the process and hard work that went into creating these timeless songs. Since the album's release in '98, I have lost count of how many times I must have listened to it. But every time I do, I am transported to a different world - one where every song is a masterpiece, and every note speaks to my soul.

Dilse had another legend who took it to international standard is Santosh Sivan .no one could shoot a song in the moving train and still convincing and sync with the song .without any cg and modern camera technology Santosh did an unbelievable job.kudos to mani,arr, Santosh and farah ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Kaisi hai ye rut ke jisme..from Dil Chahta hai by Singer Srinivas..is a masterpiece. Deserves much more songs

Don’t know about the Moment of the Day choice for now but this part of the interview is almost exclusively meant for DilSe! Unfortunately or fortunately, his track version is not retained in the Hindi 💿 whereas he must have been heard in the Tamil version. In Telugu, it’s Mano who sang it, so don’t know if they made Srinivas sing in Telugu initially or not. But why did Udit step in the last moment when that song is just for the sake of 📻 listening and not a fully picturised one unlike those other songs. This song completes the album with an almost path breaking melancholy that’s rare to find even now. What a soul stirring song 🎶’Ae ajnabi’ is? Esp., my ♥️ goes all out during that first Sarangi Bgm interlude. I feel there’s no other Indian film music director who used Sarangi or Dilruba so well like ARR did!! You can’t thank the maestro enough for this album!! Ofcrs, it’s also the pinnacle of their hit music combo that’s every eternal yet I cannot compare it with that freshness of Roja but still it’s one of the most versatile and innovative albums both in their combo and in film music itself, even with five songs. But had the reason being revealed behind choosing Udit over Srinivas, it would have been great and could be more qualified for being Moment of the Day here! Ofcrs, I agree with Srinivas when he said his music takes time to grow on you. I still remember my first impression of the title song I saw in TV ads and thought this will be the biggest dud Rahman had ever produced. But he proved even the successful musicians wrong that his music ages and aces like wine! Today, looking back at these cult songs, I couldn’t imagine life in 90s without them. Even now they are breathing oxygen into our lives is a fact and not a joke!

The point Sinivas ji made about ARR sir is - His 30sec jingle also makes us stick to the music. And at the same time ARR includes such elements that even 6 min tracks makes you stick to the track. This something interesting observation by him.

Still Dil Se omitted sitara Se aage and dil Se theme. We need the ost of the dilse. I have watched the movie countless times. Even 5 times a week alone to listen to the music. Dil Se is epitome of A R Rahman. Period

Srinivas's experience with ARR is fantastic...More unknown facts revealed...Even I felt some songs which will not attract you when you listen first then later after listening again & again then it will in loop...Episode after episode we are gathering new knowledge & experience of/with ARR...

'Don't listen to ARR song once and judge': wish this statement echoes in the ears of this gen Z as every tom and dick is judging ARR now a days, with just 1 or 2 listens only. With attention disorder of these social media addicted kids, they cant listen to a song for 3-4 times with focus, but they want to judge. Its sad for die hard fan of ARR like me, to see some negative comments about him, presently.

Incredible episode, no surprises there! Love Mr Srini’s unbridled passion for music and seeing ARR’s work with those eyes (or vocal cords!) Magnificent voice and demonstration of the unmatched nuances in AR compositions. Fantastic treat for us all. With Rajeev he is one of those few who have an equally good musical and verbal vocabulary to articulate the genius of our man’s music. Exactly what u said is right ., Rehmaan always finds a hook to connect the song to the ppl so that everybody remebers the songs hums it and sings it and enjoy the song even they rest of the lyrics was forgotten., when I young I observed this and tried to convey my frds but not able to justify that but you really put words to my thought

ARR once told in an interview that Manirathnam is very flexible and accommodative. He told that during 'Dil Se' he got a very good malyali tune in his mind. He told Mani about it and Mani then changed the Preety Zinta's character into a malyali girl without any objection, which was completely absent in original script. He just did it only to accommodate ARR's thought and his malyali tune. This is something which is unheard of normally. The result was "Jiya jale" song!!🙂🙂
