This was my first ball I used consistently. When I went from playing whatever ball I found to just this ball. I really liked this ball. I still recommend this (along with the Wilson Zip and Cut Red) to new to new-ish golfers. This (and those balls) are fantastic on irons and feel great.
My driver is in the over 105 mph bracket and I’ve tried chrome tour, chrome soft x ls, pro v1, tp5, tour b, avx, vice pro plus but still use srixon soft feel pretty often. I actually get like a craving for that smash feeling I get from them. Genuinely satisfying feeling.
I just bought 2 dozen and got the 3rd dozen for free. Even embossed with 3 lines of your own words. Not bad! It does go pretty darn straight off of my ST-Z 220 Driver. Irons and hybrids play pretty straight too. I like it all right. Of course I play on a public course where I loose balls in the fairway! They are affordable!
First, wanted to say I love your channel! I appreciate your unbiased, approach for the "real" (average) golfer :) The Srixon Soft Feel was my go-to ball for the longest time, and is still a bit of a guilty pleasure lol. It's a great ball for a no stress game.
I would love to see more videos on using a ball that doesn't match your swing speed. It would be nice to see all the areas that may suffer. With your Mizuno's it should be a really good test.
Trust me when they start coming it'll be hard to stop them. There are so many golf balls that were testing right now because we are excited due to the anticipation of them being good. But eventually I'll have to start going back and reviewing the nitros and other lower end golf balls and this will become apparent. Also the maxfli tour x we'll fit this category in the review should be coming out either tomorrow or the next day
These are my current favorite balls. I like the feel when the leave the club face. They also are more forgiving than the cheaper "practice" balls like Nitro etc. I like them a lot.
Great review! I really wanted to like this ball, but it’s not for me. It felt very squishy off the driver and was relatively short especially when putting. I found I had better results with the Callaway Softfeel. But I’m still searching for a better ball. Might be trying the Wilson Triad or Srixon Q Star Tour next. I’m trying to step up from my Laddie. Any suggestions? Thanks for the vids.
I like your ball reviews.. Your carry distances seem low, I'm curious what your swing speed is.. just to understand how it would relate to my swing... 7 iron around 78-84mph
I’ve sampled just about all tour balls and mid tour balls. Right now gaming the Cally Chromesoft but it dents my wallet. Thinking about sampling ERC soft. Have yet to get Snell because I see the ordering a bit of a nuisance. I like knowing QC SHOULD be better with the big brands.
I got my first hole in one last year with a Z Star. It seemed the z Star was a mid trajectory ball which I like. I played them most last year. This year started with a truteel then when it got warmer I really liked the Tour Response, thought the Cally Chrome soft was just as nice but $$$. Thinking about pulling out the surplus Z Stars. Would love to see what u would come up with on the Maxfli line. Gonna grab a sleeve of ERC soft an try them soon.
If you love those z Stars, which you should, because they're amazing. They are by two get one free right now. I've actually been buying Chrome softs here and there second hand to save on the cost and most of them still perform pretty well. It's a shame they're 50 bucks a pop
Good review. I use to play these but started trying out others and found my scores going up. First round back with these is tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
Thank you! Been waiting for this review and makes all sense what you found. I play regularly with Wilson Zip on regular weather and altitude conditions but switch to Srixon Softfeel when playing on links or extreme conditions and behaves great.
my favorite ball of the past 3 years. i absolutely blast this thing. unfortunately, that also includes blasting over the green. these balls really love to reach for the stars....but they aint quite z stars yet.
I always had that problem with the inesis 900. Which actually has pretty good spin, I just gained so much distance that I would under anticipate it and blast it 10 yards past. It's a mixed emotion feeling, 😅
Started with this ball last year. But I started gaming the trufeel soon after. Better distance. Better spin. For me. Now I game the q star tour. But this is a great ball for beginners
Been waiting for this review, thank you. I have been using this ball for many rounds this year, started out doing really well with it. On the verge of 68 years old, the last three times out I have lost about 25% of my distance. It is not the ball, it is the person hitting the balls fault. Overall for my swing speed the soft feel is a very good ball, I just cannot expect it to stop on the green without some after rollout.
I do love that it has a straight release though. I think it makes a great ball for seniors in that regard. Most older players are very good at hitting the golf ball where they want to, and with this ball they don't have to worry about it jumping like a bass and water once it hits the green. Gives you a chance for hole outs
Can you share more why the Cut Red vs the Srixon Soft Feel? I literally bought a dozen of the Soft feel because I didn’t know much about the Cut Reds. Ha!
You know it's really funny you say that. Just yesterday I was telling someone that because of the massive amount of golf balls I have accumulated over the last 3 years, I should just use one per round and then switch it to my chipping practice so I can put and chip consistently with the same ball. It's actually a really awesome idea 😂
I have been taking lessons the last month and a half followed by a 45 min practice session in a simulator. They facility has Chromesoft. I pulled out my Soft Feel today and in two swings hit my furthest shot to date, and did it multiple times. Switched back and forth between the SF, CS, Velocity and Kirkland. For my typical mid 70s swing speed, all with a 7 iron, my good hits were consistently 10+ yds further with the SF. Before, I was hitting my 7 iron 140-150 with an all time, outlier best of 180. Today, similar numbers with the CS but the SF was more in the mid 160s. I also hit 5 or so shots in the 190s with an all time best of 198. None of the other balls broke 172. With that said, overall, there was less spin than the CS which would explain more distance and overall straighter shots. My typical launch angle with a 7 iron is around 22-23.
Have you tested the Srixon ulti-soft? Do they even still make them? i keep finding them and i shall give them a go tomorrow now , Along with these Soft -feel too. Nice review , thankyou
@@GolfBallAddict It appears similar to the AD333 but that one is in a blue print and the Ulti-soft is a paler blue or turquoise colour . It may be an old ball? i lose count of whats out there . I am sure some are 'upgraded' by just changing its identity to improve sales . This would also get you to test it twice so to speak?so more publicity .
