At least the damaged item is the dock loading apron and not the ship itself. It will still be an involved repair/replacement but the ship itself could be used otherwise for the time being-such as "cruises" out of Manitowac.
Have you ever crossed Lake Michigan? Can get pretty ugly out there. You want all the protection you can get against water intrusion. If you don't believe it, just ask any of the crew of the vessels that didn't make it.
It’s not the tailgate on the boat that’s busted, it’s the loading ramp attached to the dock that’s busted. And it’s kinda custom-built for this application, so they likely can’t just jury rig something in there…… As for the 2nd part of you comment….the Puget Sound doesn’t hold a candle to the Upper Great Lakes… Just ask the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald….
@@BradFalck-mn3pc Dude, yer a bit over the top with that one, aincha? Ever see a big winter swell hit the north shore of Maui? Yeah, didn’t think so… The ferries the OP is talking about are the ones that run in Puget Sound, which is a pond compared to the Upper Great Lakes…
