@@Mitzrz that's not even a miner buff, that's just the hulk mutation from the severely outdated genetics (there was someone working on a rework of it, but it seems they gave up since I can't find it in the projects on discord) people are very often complaining about it because of hulk alone; complete stun immunity, high wound resist while easily dishing them out thanks to a damage boost, (at least now they can't use deswords...) and, as seen in this video, the ability to break through reinforced walls, at the cost of not being able to shoot weapons and no longer being considered human by the AI, in a very stun and wound focused combat system on tg... it all mixes into a horrible mess that everyone complains about; those that use it claim it's underpowered (read the above and tell me that again.), those who get hit by it claim that it's busted, meanwhile the coders can't do much about it since they don't want to outright remove it and almost no-one can agree on a solution. tl;dr: That's not just a miner, it's a miner with the dated mess that is TG's genetics. as for those unfair buffs- What do you mean? I haven't been on in a little while and miners don't seem all too different nowadays.
This is why when I play AI and am acting the villain the first thing I do at the beginning of the shift is to set the genetics intercom frequency to the AI private channel on transmit only, no audio. This way it quietly rats on genetics when the machine they use shouts that the hulk mutation was discovered and I can blast it immediately. Key mutations to keep on eye on in chat for is Radiation and Strength. If you see the intercom mention those things they're getting close. -Edit: And that one guy plugging SS14 can buzz off. SS14 is lame. Pixel based movement is the worst and it lacks content.
Fighting Boris is sort of like a nuclear first strike: while it's technically possible to win, you'd better succeed on the first try, because if you don't you won't get another. Killing him was clearly in the same list for Strevortni as fortifying the core and activating the doomsday device; players like Livrah are just _that_ dangerous. You can see Boris was one of the first ones to the EVA room, and he already had an RCD. A minute slower and he'd've been breaking into the satellite.
@@keyabrade1861 if Boris is in a peak state, he also could make use of something alike 'Dead Hand' ('Perimeter') protocol that is taking it's origin from USSR. In a short term, upon his death he already has his own plans to complete regardless of the status... 🤣
I mean, have you seen his videos? Killing Livrah should be a precaution for any antag. Also, is it odd this is the first time I’ve seen his face? And it was on somebody else’s video, lol.
I feel like this sums up many of my antag rounds very well. Prepare for, like, an hour thinking of every way things can go wrong and then get curbstomped once you go loud thanks to some powergaming min-maxxer. Anyways, loved your video! I hope you keep making more awesome content.
I still don’t get it, I mean antags are… antags you are most likely to get curb stomped from someone powergaying. Best think ahead on those dum dims other than complain on it
laugh it up and tell me to git gut or something, but this is why i prefer to play ss14, the skill ceiling of players is lower and I can actually sometimes succeed in my antag tasks. ss13 i just watch or spectate these days
@@weeeeelpOne of the many reasons I prefer to play with new players. Much more relaxing experience and you don’t need to tryhard, so you get more time to just have fun and fuck around
I get your pain, but I only see the powegamers as a roadblock that I must overcome. Some hulk boutta tear me to shreds? With quick use of the sleepy pen originally meant for my target, I can toss this min-maxxer into space with a nice explosive surprise to make sure they stay dead.
The crew building a second AI is what killed you. Without that you would have had more time to prepare. A second AI steals all newly made borgs, sees all your hacked apcs instantly (They where likely a ghost till 5 seconds ago and already know your malf when created and just need to look at an APC to prove it) on top of being able to shut off your turrets and apc to gimp you. Also pro tip for if they dont build a second AI, ask your mediborg if they understand basic viro, and have them put together a annoying virus and infect the crew before you go loud. Blow the chem dispensers when chemistry starts getting close to a cure as your opening act of war. Now 50% of the crew are too busy vomiting blood and stumbling in circles to attack you.
Hence I love malf AIs with atmos knowledge. Plasma-trit fire every path before going loud, and every crew rushes to have safety gear first before heading to sat. Then all borgs can just camp at sat to win
Huh never knew hulk could break reinforced walls, that seems annoying that all your prep got broke by that but still cool vid, I love watching malf ai rounds
Some tips I picked up: - Even with barely any atmos knowledge, plasmaflood is easy. and if you really are that stupid, get an engieborg to do it for you. - Get a mediborg to do a little virology and release an annoying virus a little while before go time, this way the virus has good time to spread while you finish up, and once chemistry is close to a cure, blow the chemstations as your opening move. This virus will make the crew hopefully be too busy vomiting blood to do anything about you. - Set intercoms in areas like genetics to broadcast only on the AI private frequency, this will allow you to monitor multiple other things such as when genetics unlocks hulk genes so you know when to blow the gene machine. - Try to hide the replacement AI board so a second AI cannot be built until lateround when a new board can be made. - Keep the crew busy through any means so the powergamers have less time on their hands to actually powergame. - Shortly before going big, you can have a borg pack the armory into a crate and float it off into space covering it as a "CentCom weapon transfer order"
I also like to add a single-tile layer of highly compressed plasma-oxygen in your defense layer, with some means (usually lights) to set it off. A bit less effective on the sattelite, but at least it will probably eject whoever is breaching your core, once. And also fry anyone who came with a stock EVA suit.
Id like to add to this by saying you can very easely just delete hulk gene and strengh/stimmed so they cant remake it easily that way you can remain quiet without having to worry about hulks. Further more if they test activate hulk you now can murder them without breaking assimov since hulk is t consideres human and you can just make up a fake story about them going to harm someone bonus if you sneak in danferous genes into thier advanced mix like secretly adding fiery sweat or acid flesh
When I am a Malf AI, I always start my act of war by activating the panic syphon in every room for a short period, then turning them to fill with plasma in the air network. Hard to fight an AI when half the station is set ablaze.
To be honest being a rouge pai is quite interesting sure you dont get to do much but atleast you have freedom as long as the person who emaged you isnt dead
Yeah I always hated the hulk mutation. I think it should work kinda like Floridian man where they can bust through doors and walls and take damage. Hulk mutation should take some damage every time to their arms when they bust through something reinforced. It probably wouldn’t stop them in this case, but would help. Most AIs I’ve seen malt recently usually get robotics to build more borgs, then mess with the atmos, an engi borg makes a borgging machine and as the crew is killed off they are dragged to the machine and turned into more borgs.
Don't forget the exact opposite scenario. When the antag goes loud from the start and somehow all geneticists are gone and security are robusted. Eh the antag will prolly die to a clown or assistant while in maints
It's always an opportunity to learn from your mistakes! You could keep an eye on genetics consoles, destroy comms, hack every APC you see after being revealed, slowly killing crew in many ways. Activating delta is a final step and you came to it unprepared
Your editing is wondrous! In one video you've captured the feeling of playing SS13, encapsulated the common antagonist experience, and shown the sheer depth of the game's mechanics. I look forward to seeing whatever else you might happen to make in the future!
"your work? Pointless. your borg army? Pointless. I. Am. Inevitable." - hulk miner though as others are saying, this is a great lesson to not go delta too fast and sow those seeds of destruction throughout the station before the crew has a chance to powergame and go Factorio on you. Destroy/sabotage factories = profit
since like forever, it's supposed to have the drawback of dealing damage to your arms, but you just chug some brute meds (or hell, a miner's medipen) and suddenly that drawback no longer exists
Doors are explodable via the your malf power, you could have blew up the hulk miner when he stood next to those doors, you can also use a different power to animate the doors into monsters that attack, you could have also had your borgs move you anywhere else but the obvious place you would normally be, even moving your core into maitenance on the sat would have delayed them a bit., you had options, you just didn't use them. Yes i know you can be tracked when doomsday is going on, but only by 2 people as there are only 2 nuke trackers, that miner wouldn't have had one.
That trick would have worked on every single other player on the server, but this particular miner is the one exception. They kill every megafauna and get the best possible armor and meds, get hulk and every other mutation from the gene nerds that make them practically invincible with the armor and on top of that also abuse virology to get self healing viruses and other things. After that they run around maints looking for antags to kill the entire round, every single round, every single day. This miner in particular is the top of the food chain when it comes to terry. Also i didnt have more explosions or points to buy more so my bad...
@@strevortni lol I only played in goonstation. It seemed easier than TG. I played geneticist and spent most of the round getting yelled at by people cause I could only give them lame powers. I left after getting trash-talked in OOC chat when the round ended. I don't think this game is for me but it's fun to watch.
