falcon moves faster, but his turnaround AND initial dash are soo god awful he looks slower than smash 4. falcons movement matters so much more than most characters and it feels awful in this game. i really used to love this matchup but it definitely doesnt feel as close
Falcon got buffed in a lot of ways too, his toolkit is also much more diverse. The matchup is close, the players aren't. NickC is good but doesn't have a lot of good PGR wins, while nairo is top 10 in the world and understands his opponents character better than NickC does. NickC's combos on ZSS aren't optimized when he does get in, and nairo is outplaying him in the neutral.
So everyone knows, Nairo got hit by Falcon's up B in game 1 for the first stock. If you trade with Falcon dive there's a wonky interaction where he kind've just drops you and you get soft spiked.
How come everybody thinks Falcon Kick is useless? Start up is insane, knockback is insane, and the angle is a dagger nobody sees coming. It's a great tool, this isn't melee.
Matt Velez yeah, it LOOKS POWERFUL on a lightweight. if you manage to not get shielded or dodged and land a point blank hit box without getting punched, you going to get punished because it has a ridiculous amount of endlag. Also, startup is NOT that good, it’s about 15 frames.
@@catandgrouper4760 It's a surprise move that can put a lot of space between you and the enemy when you're at a disadvantage, falling back to the stage, or when you need a clutch KO and you're hemorrhaging %. Yes, if you miss, or you get a sour hitbox, it's going to get you hit, but if you're smart with it, you're going to win a lot of exchanges and get yourself some breathing room. It's just another tool in the kit imo
v nomie You’re over praising Falcon Kick hard. It only suprises lower level players and can be easily avoided. If the startup is 15 frames like the comment above states then it’s startup sucks. You don’t even get rewarded for it much in most scenarios because you get hit for CONNECTING the move. Raptor boost exists so there’s no reason for it. Only semi useful application is as a landing tool which is also very easy to scout out and punish.
@@bobdozer9592 Its good for a kill option (for falcon) and tech chase, and is one of the two ways Falcon has to reliably kill before 180% besides Back Air. Does it suck? Yea. But with the rest of falcons kit existing, its a move we desperately need.
Samoan Silverback I don't carrot all my friend, you can’t work around an initial dash that doesn’t make sense, a backdash (NOT SKIDDING, JUST DASHING IN A POSITION WHERE HE FACES AWAY FROM THE SCREEN) which takes 13 frames (Gannon’s takes 10 frames) AND MOVES YOU FUCKING BACKWARDS. Should those problems exist on a character who’s supposed to and has almost always had fantastic mobility in all categories? They don’t “balance out” falcon, they take completely illogical things that he SHOULD have because having that mobility and power IS FALCON.
@@catandgrouper4760 my friend, don't get me wrong but all im saying is that they should adapt to the new features of falcon. that is usually what makes the character great.
Samoan Silverback I don't carrot what do you think were complaining about? I find it annoying to land nair 1 but hey, it’s a really good tool for combos. Raptor boost has been turned into a combo starter and that’s also a different tool tool people have learned to use along with nair 1 and up tilt. WE HAVE adapted to his changes and we’re trying to optimize him.
Let me draw some comparisons right here The other set: Fatality vs Nairo 1-2 Fatality fans: omg Palu broken Nairo bring carried by Nair lul This set: Nairo vs NickC, another Falcon main Nairo solo with ZSS and win the set All the fans shut up by Nairo Lmao this is why smash fans need to learn how to chill
More like fatality chokes all the time and isn't consistent at all. Probably deserves area 51 and not pgr but I love fatality it's just his results aren't good. On the other hand there is a lot of things they took away from falcon that makes him a lot harder to get results with
@@jamesgreenwood1703 I wouldn't say he chokes he just doesn't know what to do when he isn't controlling the tempo. His counter attack game isn't great and he is a little flow chart heavy without enough improv
@@jamesgreenwood1703 He's also playing a mid tier character. Much easier characters out there that are more powerful. Falcon needs to be perfect to do well....
Just because she's not top 3 characters doesnt mean she's irrelevant. Ultimate has been especially good with balancing characters in a way that makes it possible to win with almost any of them unlike past games (melee)
i love how he says that when even fatality is struggling to get results with falcon. falcon went to flowchart relatively easy character to one of the most precise and demanding characters in the game
