If anyone’s wondering the t30s don’t fit with NZXT radiators. The only way I was able to close the case was to essentially friction fit the rad with fans without the rad bracket. This includes removing all fan pads and not using screws in the 4 middle fan mount screws.
That behind the front cover 2.5 drive mount definitely a good one. The middle pin for the push pin panel honestly is useless due to the panel having four pin already at each corner. Lian Li should just ship the case with no pin on the middle one. Also it seems possible to double tape at least two 2.5 HDD at the front panel onto the case bone horizontally.
Whoa your hardware can get significantly hotter compared to mine. One of the person I referenced in the video, snapwich, had a 5950X and 3080 Ti so I think those T30's will give you a little bit more airflow IMO.
I have a 5900X and a RX 6900XT and use Noctua fans. I can imagine while beeing a bit coolerbthe T30 fans might be louder which was a no go for me. #1 Recomenndation I can give is to undervolt your hardware. My RX 6900 XT runs just fine on 1050 mV @2600MHz. A Ryzen CPU can be tweaked manually with the curve optimizer or CTR 2.1
@@AlphaDango what temps are you getting and does the heat of the gpu heat up your room? I moved out of the ridge due to the gpu heat heating my room up,moved to a matx case and room is cold now but love this case I have same specs except a 6800xt
Great video. I am swapping some parts over to this case. I've been using the sandwich style case layout for a couple years and have found the silicone cable kits for the Corsair SF units to really help with keeping open space for air to move. Most of the kits are pretty affordable and make for a really easy time getting cables run.
I went with an SFL power supply so I don't have much room down there. If anything, I would install some washers and a foam gasket to bring the plate down, then install a thin fan.
It would be tempting to design and 3D print a new bottom grill to allow 2 bottom fans, although it may require printing 2 new feet to allow a little more air flow
While nice for Sata drives, if you are spending $150 on a case with zero fans then you are likely well off enough to go full nvme. The pricing is close enough to warrant the massive performance improvements. Not only that but the extra space with the cables not having to be there for them. I'd rather invest in a thunderbolt external drive before I go back to sata if I needed more storage
That would've been my route but I just happen to those extra drives from my previous nonITX PC so I might as well just use it :) Also, prices for NVME's are more expensive in my country compared to our Western counterparts so I went with this instead.
Love this video! I've been trying to figure out what parts to use for my own A4-H2O build and this is super helpful. Would you happen to have any comparison with the stock fans that come with the Glacier One? Curious to see how much of a difference the T30 and the Noctua make.
What if you built a 240mm open bottom stand, mounted two normal case fans in it in intake position, and set the pc on top of it? This way you could have proper intake on bottom, and exhaust on top. Especially if you leave off the bottom panel.
The intention of this video/my experiment was to see if there's anything I can do to add more components outside of what's instructed in the manual. If I wanted to have another 240mm stand then I'd just by a different case 😁😁
Having the same case right now - the biggest issue is actually how to cool down DDR5 sticks as they are running pretty hot... Any tips idea how to mount additional fan?
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there's a way to mount any fans on top of the RAM sticks unless you're going for an air cooled build i.e. putting a thin radiator and fan combo on the CPU :( You technically only have the bracket at the top for fans and the fan at the bottom will only be a little effective if you have custom cables.
those T30's won't fit if you have a NZXT kraken radiator as that radiator is +3mm thick than the phantec one, guess I'm bound to the noctua NF-A12-25 then. Too bad for me.
Very useful video, thanks a lot! :D Was wondering, would it also be possible to fit the bottom fan under the gpu instead of under the power supply? (might result in better gpu temps) And did the grill for the noctua a9x14 come in the box? Cheers
Hi! Not sure what you meant when you mentioned about placing the fan under the GPU cuz the only place you can hack in another fan is under the power supply. And no the grill is a separate purchase.
I’ll see what I can do. I think I have an idea what you’re talking about. It’s gonna be a pain for maintenance though since there’s gonna be a wire hanging when opening the panel.
Unfortunately T30 even a little more expensive than the Noctua A12 here. Guess I’ll stick with the Arctic P12 for now, which are 6 times cheaper here than T30💀 Edit: Nonetheless a very nice video!
I totally get your sentiment. T30's are expensive in my part of town too. I initially wanted to get the P12's too but I just got the T30's on sale and it was the last set of 3's. Thanks so much!
The best you can do is to hack a 15mm fan at least from my experiments. This is assuming you have thin enough cables. any fans thicker than 15mm is a no go
The z690i strix can have 2 x M.2's. For the SSD's, depending on your configuration, you can put 2 at the bottom and 1 behind the front cover as long as you route the SATA data and power efficiently.
if you put 2 120 slim fans at the buttom and use the 2 t30 fans with the greatest performing 240 aio here will be aailable in a few month, mybe a newona cames ot, r using the current possibilities, would you be able to cool down and muse power imiting a bit and voltage modifying undervolting to be able to use fully the new 13900k or ks and he 4090 or if any of the 4090ti-s will fit phisycally?
A couple of points 1. You can't officially fit 2 120 slims at the bottom. You can put one but it needs a little hacking 2. Based on the specs that I've read, the 40 series cards won't fit this case since the case can only accommodate GPU's less than 300mm in length. The 40 series cards announce are over that. But then again, the case can't accommodate thicker 3 slot cards 3. I wouldn' t go for an SFFPC I were to get higher end components. I'd rather get an mATX or a full sized case + custom water cooling for that.
@@Jelvin which route did you use for the AIO tube?. Under psu or over it?. I actually picked up the exact same AIO yesterday. Currently waiting for it to arrived.
Hello, i am planning to re-build my itx rig into this case (r9 5900x + 6800 XT) and i have a question regarding your AIO as currently i am using x63 and i need a smaller AIO. Can the Phanteks Glacier One 240 aio fans/pump be controlled in regards of the water temperature inside the AIO instead of the CPU temperature? Would you recommend choosing the Glacier One 240/ H100i Pro Xt/ EK Basic 240? (x53 is out of question as the radiator is 30mm thick and i just NEED T30 fans in there)
Hi! I'm not aware if it's possible to check the water temps of the AIO; at least I haven't heard about this being possible unless you're doing a custom water loop. Apologies for that! For the AIO, it really depends on the compatibility of the motherboard. I believe that as long as the pump block fits and doesn't bump into any parts e.g. heat sinks, you're good to go. As for the recommendation, I can only vouch for the fitment of the Glacier One since that's the one I have but I've read that it's easier to put in an H100i and EK Basic since it doesn't have any accessories.
@@StereoPenguin94 it went fine, i used the radiator that i mentioned - pump can be cintrolled but not based on the temperature of the water, however i use fan software to control based on cpu temp. Even with T30 fans the cpu gets quite hot. I have limited my cpu to 125w max and played with undervolting settings till i found a right balance. With good balance and undervolted gpu while gaming i get like 70c cpu and 75c gpu
The only thing impeding the fitment was the center metal bracket that’s supporting plate for the motherboard and GPU mounts. The T30 configuration should fit if you remove the anti-vibration pads in the fans. If you don’t mind the radiator bracket bending a bit, it’ll fit with a little bit of resistance. You can check out other people here and on Reddit confirming that it fits but again, it’s not officially stated that it will fit.

So I got the standard MP. The T30's I bought separately. Total thickness is around 60mm Sorry I got confused, I thought you meant the Glacier with the T30s.
@@Jelvin thanks for the reply reply.. i will be assembling same case with same setup up with you, and will also use T30'S by the way why did you change the aorus z690 ultra to asus z690? im still thinking between aorus ultra and asus z690i can you give me some tips?
@@cletcadano4462 the original Aorus z690i had PCIE Gen4 issues where it’ll spout WHEA errors on Windows so you had to force the setting to Gen 3. @@Jelvin just know im checking the meg! Stealthy and classy look but im not sure if the phanteks 240mm aio would fit with the front cover i dont want to gamble. U think it would fit?
Theoretically it should. I believe that as long as it doesn’t go over that tight 57 to 58mm threshold, then the set up should fit. I really can’t confirm it myself so please take it with a grain of salt.
@@Jelvin appreciate your fast reply.. i just did some googling the z53 has 30mm thic rad + the t30 is a 30mm = 60mm total. So i think it will not fit.. dang.. i really wanted to use the t30 on these with my current z53.. i guess i need to settle on the nuctua instead
