This was the best explanation of what scales are, what they’re to be used for, and what they’re not to be used for, l have ever heard.

I've seen this guy perform live like a dozen times. Him an his group are absolutely mesmerizing and world class musicians. I took a guitar workshop with him before a show like 2 years ago and... I realized that people were not lying when they said that great players don't necessarily make great teachers. The entire hourlong workshop consisted of him telling our whole group that to play well we need to listen well. Granted.. he had a point... but I know this dude must practice and has learned some moves that he could have shared! But anyway.. I am going to learn these positions and try to mimic the moves he does on his albums cause hot damn this dude can play. I think he may be the best guitarist I have ever seen up close.

Lovely ... the notes touched my heart. In Indian Classical music there is a raaga called Kirwani with 3rd and 6th flat notes. It is true 6th flat and major 7th is a wonderful combination. Thanks for sharing. Learnt some key ideas and will practice.

It is a good lesson on the basics of Harmonic minor. Practice in all 4 positions... He seems to have benefitted from the practice!

Its one of those gypsy jazz type guitars, although I have no idea what the nomenclature is

It's either a genuine Selmer-Maccaferri or a copy of one. The guitar made famous by Django Reinhardt.

That’s what she said :-). The hole is small. I’ve seen Stephane many times live, the guy cam play that’s for sure.

Usually gypsy jazz guys focus more on triads and arpeggios instead of scales.
