Yes its true. The film has been cut, but you can see the coxswain removing the spark plugs and pulling a couple of times to clear the engine of any water before putting them back and restarting. This is s.o.p for us in the NSRI as well.
Nice to see not only an experienced crew but also a very skilled and understanding crew to the environment. Would I be right in saying your crew are mainly mariners rather than office workers out of interest. Either that or when you train you train to a high standard. Keep up the good work guys.............
Many are fishermen or ex-fishermen. But not all.. some work in pubs, banks you name it lol.. But they do usually have some links with the sea. In fact many of the RNLI have had family who have all been one at one time or another. And it's all volunteers, which is why raising funds like this is so important. If you want to see how brave these men are you should view the film about our brave boys of the Penlee.. in Cornwall every year we turn off our Christmas tree lights for an hour to remember our boys. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yeIX0VnUMKo.html
Cheers Jetty, we are very proud of our RNLI. All those brave men do this selfless act for free.. they have other day jobs and just drop everything and run when they get the call. My grandfather used to be part of this back in the 40's.. he was a fishermen. In fact many of our RNLI are fishermen or ex-fishermen. :D Have a great weekend. x
