St. Augustine High School @ Southern Regional National Championship BOTB 2012 

The results of this show will go down in St. Aug history w/ us placing 2nd in 1987 to Brother Martin and us placing 2nd to Willowridge in 2004. Idk what the judges saw to give Baker 1st place over this.

Best high school I've seen in awhile. good job on the introduction and first drill vocals.

This was a good show by St Aug. Not up to our(St. Aug's) standard, but I do take into consideration that this band is very young. Not many seniors and some sixth and seventh graders sprinkled in. Hurricane Katrina did a number on us, but We Are Still The Best High School Band, that's often imitated but never duplicated.

Ive read most of the comments on here but idc who won St Aug drilled they ass off. Great show to me, we dont have ANY good high school bands here in north Louisiana.

I wish we would have had 6th and 7th grade when I was there, we would have marched about 250. dinomite2799 and Joshua Speight you are correct, no other metro band can touch these drills, (no stand band here). What other bands (members) should do is learn from a show like this and stop the hate ( what the hell is poo?). Some of the drills (flashback move) we did it in the 80's and it's not easy, that's why you will only see it on St. Aug clips so youngsters please stop the silly comments!

We just wish we had more time on the music. It's obvious what song we don't completely know. We knew we weren't at our best. That is why we never complained about the 2nd place trophy.

I have to agree with my Purple brothers here. Pretty much all of the clips that I have seen of this BOTB are of remixed Jukebox shows, and I even saw someone biting a show St. Aug did in 1968 @ the first Saints game (picture hung on Mr. Hamp's wall for over 40yrs). I saw pretty much no originality. The only bands that have ever been able to pull off a successful SU show were the Kennedy bands of the 80s-90s.

The Real Reason why Bakers Drill beat St. Augs Drill is because St. Aug had more time and got deducted points for every minute they went over. It states int the Southern Regional BOTB rules that the limit for time is 10 Minutes the most! and they went 4 minutes overtime, so they got deducted points, But on that note St. Aug made History on SU's field on this Night right here and either way it goes they are the best band in the state.

The BS with St.aug has to STOP. If they are so poo, why are ppl so concerned with what the do???? St. Aug clips are the most viewed/most commented on of all high school bands on youtube and bandhead......PERIOD (fact). Everybody "claims" their bands or someone elses band is capable of doing better. WELL WHY HAVENT THEY DONE SO BY NOW??? If they have, WHERE IS THE FOOTAGE??? Most importantly, IS IT AN ORIGINAL SHOW?? These dudes (grades 6-12 mind you) put out a consistant product year to year

Baker practically did win by default. St. Augustine had the best show out there. Im sure if the time limits were increased to 15:00 , then St. Augustine would've gotten the first place.

Is it me or do all BR bands remind people of SU... From they field shows to marching style...

I will say this to all you folks that always have to hate on the Aug. Until you come up with your own unique style instead of doing every drill that The Human Jukebox does or did, then shut up. I marched on the yard and was one of the few in my crab class that understood what 8 to 5 is and how to execute it. I give credit to my Crab Brother at Baker Ked the Mutha Pizzle for doing his thing. But let's see has any school been invited to the Rose Bowl...and notice I said school LLI isn't a school

To OPTTEEJOE thats not true at all? Baton Rouge have been make some noise post Katrina, they just wasn't big with numbers like the N o school systems bands were.

Most of SU band members come from the N.O. so I don't even know why this is a discussion. Yes, SU is in BR but after the BOTB more than 50% of SU band was in the Aug's section in the stands (that was because they were letting BR know that they were from the N.O. don't get it twisted. Coming from the sister of a 85' JFK Human Jukebox "Raggedy Man" and a 85' St. Aug Human Jukebox spouse. The fact is that St. Aug's band is and have always been the band to beat. Baker won by default. I was there.

the dude reppin for b.r. must be used to elementary school field shows. st aug may not sound perfect but b.r. bands field show was not even in their category.

St. Aug was robbed... Nobody in HS put a field show together like the Aug... This band is built off originality... From the way the take the field, their marching style, St. Aug still use high step Snare Drums... This is one of the best field show ever put together period... St. Aug was robbed... No SU copycats here...

And how exactly did Baker "win by default" as you say, smh I swear people from New Orleans will never accept a loss even if Jesus himself came back and judged.. The 3 judges were all from different universities, none affiliated with baker and Baker was still voted to win. If you call that by "default" then yea sure.

Time had nothing to do with it. Idk where y'all hearing that lil rumor from but I was able to talk to the judges personally. st aug lost because of bad sound.. ex that terrible piccolo hanging over through the whole show, tubas just playing loud and sloppy. that horrible sounding 'thats the way of the world' like they didnt even know the music and not to mention the time half the band was marching and the other wasnt. yea baker won by default alright lmao, smh.
