I am shizophrenic, deeply religious, rejected by pretty much everyone, but i wanted to comment and say that this video means a lot because he is one of the few saints i can relate to and this video was posted on the first day of my intensive outpatient therapy journey, the first structured thing ive done in 4.5 years the last being my job as a dishwasher. God bless everyone.
You will never be rejected by The Trinity and Our Lady and all of heaven. Jesus has given you His precious son a challenging life but I feel He would say this to you my brother: your rejections make you more like Me and My rejections make Me more like you. Take your rejections and abandonments to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemene and allow Him to turn it into Divine currency to compassionate Him and for souls who need to be saved. Mother Mary please be a Mother to our dear brother. Fill his loneliness with Your tender Love, Peace and Joy. You are embellished with The Love of all of heaven and even though I’m on the other side of the world in Australia, I love you too my brother. ✝️🙏❤️🌹🕊
When i visited Rome 6 years ago, I made a point of visiting and praying at the tomb of St. Benedict Joseph Labre. I felt a great sense of peace at his tomb. I wandered the streets around the Coliseum and St. Maria di Monti Church imagining that he walked along the same streets. St. Benedict Joseph Labre, ora pro nobis
i spent 4 or so years on the streets in my earlier life , now i have come to faith i feel a real kinship with St Benedict Joseph and ask for his intercession regularly.
Dearest St. Benedict Joseph Labre Intercede for Us Sinners, the Dying, The Priests, the Children and All the Holy Souls in Purgatory especially those who are forgotten 💙
My heart went out to this young man. Rejected, brutalized, mocked .. he walked with Christ. How sad the rest of us cannot do half of what this young man did.
Brilliantly done! How could I not fall in love with St Benedict Labre? He follows Christ like a doting little brother, with eyes that never leaves the Face of his Savior. St Benedict, pray for us - ❤️
It is a blessing for me that I am actually living at the same time with so many great teachers such as Fr. Carlos Martins, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Bishop Robert Barron, and Fr. Vincent Lampert. Just amazing!!!!!
It's not easy to be rejected at all, to think about all he went through! The power of God's Holy Spirit in him really shines through. The fortitude, the piety, the humility...unmatched! I complain and whine about mosquitoes, never mind fleas?! Whew...St Benedict Joseph Labre, pray for us!
Thank You Father Martin. I’ve received so much from you and the way Christ speaks in you. I’m so grateful to learn about this Saint today. Saint Benedict Joseph Labre, pray for us!
Wow! If the lord could call a homeless person to sainthood , then who are we to reject Christ's calling. St Joseph you are now with Christ and in his eternal presence. Intercede for us.
God is so good. I will be in Rome next week and have been wondering what to visit then this video came.I wish I can go visit his tomb.St. Joseph Labre pray for all the poor.
I am as of the moment taking a seminary break because while in the seminary I was diagnosed with severe depression and tried to do self-harm. I left the seminary last february of this year. It's been months, I consider this time as my discernment moment, however, I would say, I still have the strong desire for priesthood and want to go back to the seminary for my formation. Everyday, I ask for God's grace and mercy to help me nurture the fire I have to become a priest someday. I do Holy Rosary, daily Gospel and 1 Psalm everyday. But I am also certain that I am not ready yet as I still have my episodes of trauma and anxiety attacks at present. It is my steadfast prayer to find a psychologist or a counselor that could help me process my anxiety and trauma. I have started speaking to a counselor, but couldn't sustain because of the expenses. I continue to pray that someone can help me send myself to a psychologist or a counselor to undergo whatever treatment. By God's grace, when I go back for my formation, I will be emotionally stable. I ask for your prayers. I pray, I can visit his tomb. 🙏 God bless us all.
Amazing story. He can also bilocate or more and spends a lot of time in front of the Blessed Sacrament from church to church. Teaches the Bible and Catechism in his journey. He would not even want his lice to leave him as penance. When he died and after a year they changed his clothes and in doing so almost fell. Lo and behold his dead hand grabbed the side to prevent his body from falling😵. Amazed and surprised people around him. During his funeral an American protestant was converted and became a priest who also led a holy life. I hope he became a Saint too. He also appeared to Fr. Michel Rodrigue a french canadian mystic and a priest (whose congregation was named after this saint) and described the Saint as contemplative (silent).🙏🙏🙏
I had just finished praying the Rosary, when this video popped up. I never knew of this Saint. Thank you so much Gabi and Fr, for continuing to teach and Nourish us spiritually. May God continue to use you both ❤
God bless you Father Martin and Gabi. That was a beautiful video. Thank you for creating it. I had never heard from him. St. Benedict Joseph Labre pray for us.
Wow; I learned a lot from the video!! Thanks, everybody involved in this production!! I never have heard about this guy! What a heroically self-sacrificing heart and life!!
He also is a great example that everybody is called to sainthood, even people with some form of mental illness, be it depression, anxiety or even schizophrenia. Some Catholics seem to think that we can have Saints with all sorts of illness, from leprosy to "mechanical" disabilities, but get scandalized at the thought of a saint having mental disabilities, be them permanent or temporary. This makes absolute no sense. Also, if anyone reading this is experiencing any mental problems, keep praying, going to adoration, receiving the Eucharist, but please SEEK professional help. St. Benedict Joseph Labre, pray for us!
@@davidthegood Go to both, there also plenty of good Catholic psychologists, psychiatrists and neurologists. Would you ask someone with a gangrene to only pray for its cure and avoid a wordily doctor? Why are Catholics allowed to have any disease under the sun, BUT the ones related to the mind? Asking someone to ONLY pray and attend the Sacraments when they're depressed, or have schizophrenia is one of the cruelest things you could do. Ecclesiasticus [38:1-15] 1 Honor physicians for their services, for the Lord created them; 2 for their gift of healing comes from the Most High, and they are rewarded by the king. 3 The skill of physicians makes them distinguished, and in the presence of the great they are admired. 4 The Lord created medicines out of the earth, and the sensible will not despise them. 5 Was not water made sweet with a tree in order that its power might be known? 6 And he gave skill to human beings that he might be glorified in his marvelous works. 7 By them the physician heals and takes away pain; 8 the pharmacist makes a mixture from them. God’s works will never be finished; and from him health spreads over all the earth. 9 My child, when you are ill, do not delay, but pray to the Lord, and he will heal you. 10 Give up your faults and direct your hands rightly, and cleanse your heart from all sin. 11 Offer a sweet-smelling sacrifice, and a memorial portion of choice flour, and pour oil on your offering, as much as you can afford. 12 Then give the physician his place, for the Lord created him; do not let him leave you, for you need him. 13 There may come a time when recovery lies in the hands of physicians, 14 for they too pray to the Lord that he grant them success in diagnosis and in healing, for the sake of preserving life. 15 He who sins against his Maker, will be defiant toward the physician.
I'd heard of him before, but didn't know all the amazing details. WHat a profound lesson in humility....accepting rejecting his entire life so that he could identify with the rejection of CHrist..... how many opportunities I have lost to do the same!!!!
Thank you Fr, thank you Gabi...always making us tear up, arent you? Another St Ive never heard of to lean on during so much rejection in this valley of tears
Thank you. I felt this was the saint calling out to me to pray for his intercession the last few days. I assumed St. Benedict of Nursia, but I keep getting the thought of st. Benedict in my heart and mind and other interesting "signs" and I didn't even know about this st. Benedict. So, Saint Benedict Joseph Labre, please pray for me, my family, and all those connected to me. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
What a strong faith he had. Many people rejected from the Religious Life would take that as a personal rejection from God. He trusted God enough to live his life according to God's Will instead of his own.
You should do a video on St. Catherine of Siena's "The Dialogues" specifically on the topic of "spiritual sensuality" or "spiritual gluttony". I have watched your videos on consolation, desolation and I have practiced mental prayer and started becoming very attached to my consolations for their own sake, and not for the sake of love for others and fostering virtue. It would be good to put out an educational video about the topic, so others do not make the mistake i have.
