It appears in your video you are utilizing your spinning reel incorrectly. It should be used below the grip of your handle of the spinning fishing rod. In addition by fishing with the reel incorrectly above the reel seat of the rod you are damaging the spine of the rod by bending it backwards and weakening it...guides should be all below the spinning fishing rod. On a baitcaster it is all reversed. Hope this helps you.
Thanks for the tip! I ended up learning that is the best time to catch them from shore! It only took a bunch of tries! If you have any other advice I would appreciate it as this was my first “season” jigging from shore!
