Thank you very much for the aclarations. So which one would you recommend more for Texas jig, unleaded vinyl like ikas or sakamata spinner and chatter, the 7.1MHF, 7.3MHF or the 7.5MHF?

Now that'd I've used the Power Finesse a bit, I'll give a quick review. It's an awesome rod for working T-rigs through grass and grass edges. I've been using it for 7" and 10" curly tail worms or speed worms, 3/16 and 1/4 oz. With a Shimano Metanium and 16lb sunline sniper, it can bomb a bait out there. I drag and hop worms through and over grass. Picked up 30+ largemouth with it so far. Sensitivity is 8/10 IMO. The rod feels true to its rating. That tip is Xfast but soft. The backbone is definitely heavy power. It's a pleasure to fish.

St Croix really needs to add a 6' 10" or 6' 11" mh/f for people that don't like to use long rods

This was SO helpful in deciphering all of these niches and figuring out what I need. St. Croix has the greatest rods but terrible marketing and explaining their products. Thanks for doing their job for them.

They made the victory's pretty good, the jump up to a LTB is going to be a hard sell unless they're miles more sensitive and balanced.

The new technologies used in these rods make the well worth the investment! There is a noticeable increase in sensitivity and performance with the new Legend Tournament Bass!

They look like a nice series of rods. Really good to see the actions. They are definitely softer action than many brands.

I feel a med heavy fast st croix is faster than the same action shimano for example. I own 3 st croixs, one med heavy bass x a heavy bass x swimbait rod and a medium triumph spinning. All feel lighter than what they claim to be but I wholeheartedly prefer it. The little bit of squish they have helps me keep ‘em pinned better.

Is it just me or did St Croix underrate the weight ratings on these rods? I’ve seen some of the models in stores and when I flex them I feel like they would be able to handle more than the suggested range, specifically the 7’3 HMF, 7’6 HMF, and the Warhorse

I need help choosing a casting rod for bass. I finally decided to get into freshwater fishing and im pretty much a land base fisherman so does anyone have any recommendation wich one i should go with? I would like to pair it with the shimano curado dc.

Is the 7’3 Heavy ModFast just a shorter version of the 7’6 Heavy ModFast? Lure rating is the same, but the name of the 7’3 is throwing me off a bit. Who would throw a crank or bladed jig with a flipping stick?
@bassutopia
@bassutopia Год назад
The 7'3" Flip-Chat-Crank is designed to be a more parabolic action, which lends to shock absorbency when fishing close quarters in heavy cover (Flip). The rod is also designed (thanks to its parabolic nature) to fish bladed jigs (Chat) and larger crankbaits (Crank).
@davidisakson3675
@davidisakson3675 2 года назад
How is the balance on the 7'3" Heavy Extra Fast? I have the victory version of that rod and it is a bit tip heavy.(but really enjoy the rod action). Debating between upgrading to that or the 7'3" MH and the tie break would be the balance. Any insight would be great.
@bassutopia
@bassutopia 2 года назад
If balance is the driving factor behind your decision, you probably won't notice much difference between the two rods. The main difference is the crispness in the blanks. The Legend Tournament is going to be a little more responsive!

What would you use the power finesse for?

The Power Finesse rod would be a dynamite jig or texas rigging rod!

Great vid! I want a rod for T-rigs in deeper submerged grass (edges or in it) about 8-12' deep. Would Power Finesse the Workhorse be best?
@bassutopia
@bassutopia 2 года назад
Both would get the job done, but the Power Finesse has a pretty cool action that excels at bottom contact techniques. That would be our choice!

Was settled on a glx flippin rod, but Now I’m going with st croix. For pitching 1/4-3/8 jigs. Now I gotta figure out which of my 3 possibles I want. Workhorse, warhorse, or power finesse?
@bassutopia
@bassutopia 2 года назад
For jigs that light, you'd be best off with the Power Finesse. Those other rods would be better if you were flipping and pitching heavier jigs, 3/8 oz and greater.
@givemeabreakdoc
@givemeabreakdoc 2 года назад
@@bassutopia really!? That “heavy” rating is what scared me. I’ve got an NRX med hvy extra fast and I really like it for pitching jigs. I just assumed a “heavy” would be too stiff. I ordered the 7’3 med hvy fast st croix already. Need something with a little slower action anyway. I guess I’ll get the power finesse later. Can’t have too many, no matter what the wife says. Lol.
