t5 Heath many were opposed to it because of the influx of travelers it will destroy their way of life. There was a documentary on one of the local islander committing suicide and many complained about the rising price of homes etc.
Tamalpias they haven't got a way of life. The island wouldn't survive without the UK giving them 30 million a year in aid and benefits. It's time they started paying something back in to the UK system. 300 million for a airport is ridiculous.
@@KneeoGeeo St.Helena is owned by the UK, this is not foreign aid. 30 million is nothing when you consider how much the UK spends on sheltering ILLEGAL immigrants who have no business being there. The whole point of the airport is so the island can be self sufficient through tourism. It's a long term investment.
