That new link road destroyed Sherdley Park Golf course. Not many people know that is was famous for having one of the longest Par 5's in the UK with very very few pro golfers being able to reach it in two shots. I used to play there regular and loved that hole. Sadly that was the very hole that was destroyed. I remember speaking to the Golf pro who ran the club about it: "Ive tried everything but there is nothing I can do" He said, and burst into tears. Nothing stops "progress"

When Elsie Tanner arrived to open Bowdler brokers hardware shop on Kirkland street, I was in the crowd. I was stood diagonally opp opposite the shop and saw er get out of the car, she seemed stunned to me.
@@5.1MusicChannel I can remember seeing Elsie with her hair in a beehive, she had a long sleeve blouse and dark coloured, possibly brown pencil skirt on. Kirkland street was packed. How can I remember that when I can’t remember what I did 5 minutes ago? I bet your Nan had a good time.
@@stevenlangdon-griffiths293 Me too - my most used reply is, 'what was we talking about?'🤣 I remember watching this one xmas in the 90's with my grandad, and we kept rewinding the tape looking at the footage with my nan in (she had died a few years before) and my grandad was made up to see her again - good times. I really like the next shots too, when the car drives past the lady taking her plate to the chippy 😊
