@@richardduke9877 : Actually, I thought that was kind of, a nice lead into the part about the town itself. It's nice for people to be reminded that Newfoundland is about so, so, much more than St. John's itself. Though I will admit that I had to scroll ahead a bet to see when St. John's itself, would be featured. Overall though, I think it was an extremely, well put together video. Should have even, more views than it has. Warmest Wishes. My Best. Be Well and Safe. Out.
Darling as you may have noticed from the beginning of this video, it's not St. John's alone, but the whole of Newfoundland itself, really. To do the place justice properly, and if you have the time and means to do so, you need to travel all over the island to get a feel for the place properly. I'm originally, from a place called Twillingate myself, but have lived in St. John's for over 30 years now, and my home is utterly, awesome to visit in the Summer. July, August and even September are the best months to visit if you ever get the chance. Much Love and Warmest Wishes. Be Well and Safe. Out For Now.
I went to St.John 's for the first time in Summer 1965 to visit with my relatives .Truly a great vacation and experience. Found the people friendly and welcoming.
Hi Newfy , I love St. John's with all my heart. I spent three the best years of my life here. Hi Red Pepper restoran, hi Edy, hi Linda, hi Kan hi every one in this beautifule city.
No better way to present NFLD has ever been done, from the music to not a word, just let us drink it in and see for ourselves. I left the rock in 1966, it is lovely.
I would like to ask a question please. I'm seeing 3 story saltbox houses yes? Are they divided up with different families inside or mainly just one? I imagine that's a lot of steps inside. LOL
OhMyGosh!!!! My first love. I haven't been back home in 47 yrs!!!! I miss my home!!! I'm from St John's but the area doesn't look familiar. My memories are vivid. Could you please tell me more or less the area that you covered. ThankYou so much for sharing!!!!
@@Countrybananas Wrong. There was no St. John's in 1497. That's when John Cabot arrived in Newfoundland. Talk to your history teacher. Mexico has many cities older than St. John's.
I have a friend there. Dying to retire in 4 yrs and move there. Hows the rent? Cost of living? People? I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, little Italian. Tell me show me more!!
@@ivanj.conway9919 Hello again Ivan! What an interesting year we've all had. I am still interested in beautiful Newfoundland. Hope this message finds you and yours safe and healthy. Ellie
@@elliepereira4885 : Hello Darling. How are you? Ya, it certainly has been. And for me it may end off more dramatic than it started. Hey, please feel free to check out the walking tour vids I've done of St. John's over my channel as well. Not as slick as Kevin's here, but I hope equally as interesting. Are you preparing for Christmas? I'm just starting myself. I hope to have photos and videos to upload later. Warmest Wishes. Be Well and Safe. Out For Now.
Man, here I am making walking tour videos of St. John's, left, right and center, which no one is bothering to watch, and here, someone else does it once and get's over 75,000 views. I simply, can't compete with this sort of thing. My Best. Out.
PS: I compliment you My Brother, as your video was extremely, well put together. Right now, I can't compete like this, but once and if I am able to at some point, I hope to get the same number of views you have. Viewing St. John's like this, with the music included, is certainly, far more interesting and dynamic then I'm able to achieve walking the town and without musical accompaniment. Almost felt like q different place from what I'm used to living in for the past 30 plus, some odd, years now. Again, My Hat is Of to You for an EXTREMELY, well made and well put together video. Obviously, the first six minutes or so were of you driving into town and not of St. John's proper, but that was some super, awesome, scenery as well. Warmest Wishes. My Very Best. Be Well and Safe. Out.
Thanks for the comments Ivan, they’re much appreciated. All I can say is RU-vid is a funny site. I made the video so I could show my wife and kids some of St Johns as we live in Calgary and I was there visiting. The video had almost no views for a year or two and then one day views started to rack up! Keep at it, as I’m sure views will start pouring in 👍
@@skyscraperman99 : Thank You Brother. I so, so, hope so. Well, as I said; your video is extremely, well put together. Very well edited and as others have stated; the music for the background could not be more appropriate, so I'm not surprised it has gotten the number of views that it has. I've lived in this town for over, 30 plus, years now, Brother, and walked up and down many of the streets you featured in your video countless times, yet watching your video and how you have everything put together, with the musical score in the background, made it feel like a completely, different place. So interesting and dynamic. I will certainly, keep your video in mind as an example of how I can try to put my videos together better. Now that being said; I've made a few walking tour videos of various areas of town, over the past couple of months, which you are more than free to check out, if you wish. Warmest Wishes. My Very Best. Be Well and Safe. Out For Now.
