This is my first time on Liat's new fleet of ATR's and this was a really nice and smooth flight. It's been almost 3 years since i last visited my busy neighbor in the Caribbean St. Maarten. One year ago Hurricane Irma which was the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic made a direct landfall on the island and did destruction on a catastrophic level. On my arrival the terminal was still closed to the public still doing repair. a drive around the island clearly showed that it is rebuilding and bouncing back.
