The materials that make up St. Louis are hundreds of millions of years old, meaning that its buildings predate the dinosaurs and you can travel to the bottom of the sea while looking up at the Gateway Arch. Join Public Historian Andrew Wanko on a journey through the city’s architectural geology as he investigates building materials from all over the world and deep inside the earth, from ubiquitous red bricks and limestone slabs to cast-iron balconies and granite pavers.
