I went to Padstow for new year 2023. I lived there for a while late 1960's-1970 while with the RAF. The old town was quiet and the pubs inert and dull, just awful. People stuffing their faces in restaurants (some at £150 per head for eating seaweed), looking around for fun that didn't exist. It appeared the spirit I remembered had been exploited, sold off and gone. Oh, what has happened to this county seen in these images? Someone please tell me I am wrong.

Tranquility after the turmoil of war, back to work and simple pleasures. My mother who passed 3 years ago aged 93, remembered vividly the days leading up to the war, but also her evacuation to the country, but thing that brought a tear to her eye was remembering going on holiday in I think 1946 or 47 going on holiday to Hampshire Coast and her Father sitting in deckchair while behind him workmen bashed around removing a tank trap they said its noisy mate my grandfather said don't worry I can't hear you I'm just taking in the view of the sea I dreamt of every day and kept me alive in dark grey days. They Gritted their teeth and endured and struggled for us their grandchildren (I.e. Me and my sister) so that may have better life with Free Health Care Vacinations Education for all and No NAZIs God Bless Em !!..
