Everybody waits for this famous day saint Patrick's day parade March of 5th avenue just the wonderful site wonderful man this is the pride of America police department and Fire department they don't get the credit they deserve I always enjoy listen to them then go to an Irish pub have a good corned beef dinner couple drinks come home and top it off but Irish coffee and talk about the good old days this is what life is about 🍀🇨🇮💯
I like this one. I wear tartan too (Hunting Ross, for anyone who wants to know), tho not as much as I would like.. My dad was called Patrick, so the Feast Day means a lot to me.
I thought these clothes are British regimental clothes for the scottish Highlanders, so why are they holding up ireland's flag? Did NYCP got things mixed up
@@jimmurray9032 a think you have to read your history.....irish nationalists in the 1800s deliberately set out to create an identity to distance themselves from their colonial english roots. bagpipes/kilts/fiddle reel music/stepdance/ceilidhs/accordians and more...all from scotland. the dalriada is a mythical tale written by irish monks to give ireland an identity. it,s easy to research.
@@brucecollins4729to tell the truth I don't think anyone e linked for sure just enjoy the lovely music ad culture which are enjoyed everywhere thismitty bitty argues are not for Good men
@@aislingirish4503 have a look on the irish guards, then you see the different. These here are pure scottish military uniforms. Ok typical scottish is black
The Irish play the Uilleann pipes under the elbow and the traditional Irish kilt is saffron not tartan, what you're seeing here is a jumbled up load of codswallop that has nothing to do with Ireland.
You are absolutely right. This show irritates me. It isn't Irish at all. I would correct you on one small point. The Irish do play bagpipes other than Uillian pipes. They are the old Irish warpipe or Brian Boru pipe which have only 2 drones and a keyed chanter. Dress should be saffron kilt, brat (shawl), buckled brogues and caubeen.
@@alanbbrady8196 never said there weren't, but I don't see them here. Traditional Irish kilts and shawls derived from the Celtic "brat" are saffron. If you need educated on Irish pipers dress go no further than the British Army. Faugh a Ballagh.
How strange, A Scottish pipe band claiming to be an Irish pipe band. Well from the top, the bearskins worn only by the British, Red tunics, British Army, Kilts and Sporrans are very Scots, and the spats and ghillies shoes also Scottish. Oh and St Partick was English
The Irish have always worn kilts and played the Warpipes which are slighty higher pitched. The supplanting of Scots into Ulster has also contributed to the mixed dynamic of heritage. The sharing of culture might be something that terrifies those who deem 'ownership' on Nationality and its trappings but frankly America has been a stewing pot for this kind of thing. They see Ireland largely as Irish rather than recognise the colonial province of NI. Scots came back to Ireland and mixed it up. Enjoy your day.
@@alanbbrady8196 Th Irish did wear kilts, but not Tartan, safron coloured laddie. Also Irish pipes are very much different from Scottish pipes. The Catholic Irish hated Anglo irish and Planters so there was no mix of cultures in reality apart from Arthur Guinness who was part of the Aristocratic viscounts Hervey. He grew up in Chiswick. But I agree with what you write about the US americans, they all see to claim to be Irish, just what is all that about?
@@alanbbrady8196 irish nationalists adopted most of the scottish culture to distance themselves from their anglo-irish roots. bagpipes, kilts ,stepdance, music etc.
Many Irish/Scottish immigrants joined the FDNY…look at the names killed on 9/11…many have Irish/Scotch last names. They are celebrating the dept’s heritage. Fuck off.
@@arthurmiskelly857 The Brits illegally occupied Ireland for over 700 years. And now your saying they have no right to wear silly hats like the Brits? 🤔🤣😂🤣😅🍀🍀🍀
