I live in Québec where GSP grew up. It feels so weird to have one of the GOAT that comes from my place. At first I was highly against him doing a return, because he would have too much too loose. I mean he's the goat, almost everybody mention him when it comes to this subject, why risking loosing that title, you can't get more respected than that George. But I also feel that he would enjoy a fight with Khabib : No trashtalking and no BS, he could focus entirely on the fight this time. A true mix martial artist fight would be interesting.

The only thing that stops Khabib from being the official GOAT is multi division champ status. GSP, Cejudo, Nunez, DC, and even Connor have that over him. So either give Khabib the consensus GOAT in gsp or WW champ Kamaru. If GSP doesn't want the fight, give him someone who is the running for greatest WW of all time and the current WW champ. This immediately came to mind when they stalled the Burns fight.

Khabib can’t be the GOAT if he’s not willing to fight GSP at 170 or a catch weight. From what I’ve seen Khabib will only fight GSP at 155. That cut definitely wouldn’t help George especially at 39.

Don't tell me 40 comes and its a day like any other day. I go to Dr weekly for suboxone. At 39 years old I weighed 155-159lbs but could never reach 160lbs even when I tried. That was the case for years. I turned 40yrs old and within 1 month I was 175lbs without even trying. My back has started hurting. Got the flu this year (First time in my life). 40 has destroyed me lol

The GSP vs Khabib doesn't excite me anymore. GSP merely keeps his name out there so that he can maintain those endorsements. I realize that he would certainly be able to compete but no one really takes his interest very seriously.

I honestly don't know if the champ champ thing is better than what Khabib has done. I don't like the idea that just because Khabib never changed weight classes he has no chance to be the goat. I think its foolish to just think there isn't any argument. Even without beating GSP who has done it... btw he neat Conor who actually did but i think we are supposed to forget that. Just hypothetically, if its even possible, how many fights at 155 would Khabib need to win for it to be more impressive than two belts? Even though he hasn't moved weight, he's only ever lossed one single round. It's really hard to wrap your head around what that even means. That'd be like if Floyd Mayweather in boxing not only won all his fights, but won every round in every one of his bouts. To me that seems much more impressive than someone who had two different belts. For example, is Conor going up to 155 to fight Eddie with no prerequisite fight in that specific weight class as prestigious of an achievement as Khabib beating multiple WORLD champions in his own weight class? Not just beating them but dominating them and making these world class champions look amateur. It seems to me if Khabib goes 30-0 even without GSP at the end, but rather Tony or Conor 2, this seems to me to be far greater of an achievement. Especially since we all agree that 155 today is the deepest and toughest weight class. If you fight the people of yesterday today and tomorrow but none of those eras had the same level of deepness as 155 today, then wouldn't that be the same thing as saying Khabib did it the harder way by staying in his division? If 155 is the swamp and Khabib cleans out the swamp why does is matter what weight those guys were? If Khabib were gone couldnt we all close our eyes and imagine any other guy becoming a champion, and not question the fact that they could be? We all know- or at least anyone with half a fighting knowledge gsp beats khabib 9-10 times in his prime. However usman Colby hell even Woodley any bigger man with wrestling IQ stops khabib everytime. I think when he beat featherweight Conor people have lost sight of what actually happens. There's nothing to lose with this fight at 155 if Khabib beats Justin. Khabib likely wants to retire at 30-0 anyway, so a fight with GSP where both guys want to retire after, so what? GSP thinks he can make 155, give him that incentive of a title fight then and the chance to be a champ in three weight classes, never been done. If Dana wants the fight at 155 and Khabib is champ, he can't be worried GSP will win and walk away because Khabib would do the same if he wins.

Georges should not take this fight. He would be 40 at the time it takes place so i can not keep myself away from thinking his physical prime is over, he has not competed in years, and he is asked to fight at a weight class he has never fought at. I think we must all admit that Georges' reputation would be damaged by a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. It is quite like Khabib would retire undefeated, then years later an undefeated Bantamweight champion calls him out for a championship fight at 135. Would Khabib take this fight? I don't think so.
