I absolutely love The Garden Island, Kauai!! I stayed at The Cliffs at Princeville, just down the road from St. Regis. I did however, frequent St. Regis for several sunset dinners on the terrace at the 10:02 of your video, sushi rolls and steak. And golfed until my heart was content!! It was said that St. Regis had the most exclusive spot on the island for a magnificent sunset!! At the 33:33-mark, awe inspiring memories of the Napali Coast and walking the Kalalau Trail the first 2 miles to Hanakapi'ai Beach takes me back to a place I'd like to be! I sat at the beach for several hours taking it in. However, if you walk the trail, please, please take plenty of water and at least a backpack of fruit and light snacks. While I was going to the beach, I encountered an older lady heading back to the trail head desperately begging to pay for one of my bottled waters. Looking at her condition there was no way I was going to charge her for water and gave her 2 bottles. So, prepare yourself because the 2 miles trek to the beach is a legitimate 2 hours one-way and get to the trail head early.
I'm here the for the music and the stunning views of the ocean and mountainside. The traveler expert does a really good job incorporating the music with the views. Yes, I'm enjoying the hotel tour, but the music and stunning views of nature are my favorite. Very relaxing. Thank you.
Went to Kauai for my 40th bday. Ate and drank at the Princeville Hotel a couple of times, before it changed hands (2000). Sat in lobby bar overlooking the pool with a view if Bali Hai (as the mountains were called in "South Pacific"). Gorgeous views with the sun setting. Did not want to leave, but we were renting a private home in Wailua area. One of my best trips ever. Kauai is a rare gem. TY for the video - I am ready to go back.
You might think I'm crazy but, I actually cried after seeing the Napali coast views from the terrace at 9:35 ... Such breathtaking beauty moved me to the core!
I've always LOVED Kauai and only stay in Princeville... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for taking your time and making these videos...(and also for not talking during them😊).
This was so nice from you trip collection. It has been some years since I have been to Lihue, Kauai. My crew and I stayed at the Radisson Hotel off of Kauai Beach Drive. Walking along the beach behind the hotel was simply so nice!!! Thank you for your video here because you made me remember and look at photos that I have of being in Hawaii.
This Island for me was the best in the world & if your looking for a quite, gorgous & peaceful villa property here, try The Wyndham Bali Hai Villas. Only a quick 3 min drive from the St Regis.
Kauai is one of the most serene beautiful places I have ever traveled to. 3/4 of the island is inaccessible because of the jaggedly terrain. We ponied up the $$$ and took a jet helicopter flight for 1.5 hours to see the inaccessible parts. STUNNING! I agree with your assessment regarding the St. Regis. As far as crying/screaming children are concerned well two thoughts ... (1) that’s what young children do and (2) over the course of my pediatric practice and in society in general, I’ve come to believe that some young parents today just tune it out and feel as though their interests come before the surrounding public at large. Sad but real. Getting back to the presentation, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 on another outstanding video. Thank you for sharing!
These "top-of-the-top" hotels are specifically designed for business meetings and snobby, rich, childless couples. You don't bring your kid to these places. Thing should be arrested for disorderly conduct. Let the parent spend their vacation and rest of their summer flying back and forth to Hawaii for court appearances, and I *guarantee* the parents'll learn their manners next time.
Glad to know that you visited the North shore of Kauai , just before you got to the St. Regis , you drove my where I usually stay : Pali Ke Kua !! I am sure you also enjoyed Hanalei and the 11 mile drive to Kee beach too ! Happy New Year to you , always a pleasure to see / read your reviews !
IT WOULD BE A MIRACLE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MR ESPARZA AND ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS. IT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE TO OWN MULTIPLE LUXURY HOTELS AND RESORTS. I WOULD CRY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! 🙏
Kauai is known for it's incredible beauty, but not its not known for food, customer service, nightlife, resorts or shopping. So if you do come to Kauai expect to pay a lot of money for so so amenities. I have lived here for 10 years and the beauty never gets old, but everything else leaves much to desire. Come for the land and experience of a natural paradise. You're almost better off camping or renting a small cheap vacation rental because you'll be outdoors 95% of the time. The weather is always the same year round so you could literally sleep outside. All you would need is something to cover you from rain.
While I appreciate your attention to detail, the point of the St. Regis' location and lobby design is the drop-dead fantasy-like view of Hanalei Bay from the moment you enter the holtel. No one is noticing the floral arrangement or chandelier or anything else.
I think folks going here would know that it was a more casual family oriented place, rather than a five star singles resort. If it's more affordable, the kids will be schlepped along. Even the screamers. Especially the screamers! Yes, the scenery is mind blowing.
danny1966 did you enjoy it? I'm planning a trip there with my mother for her birthday. I've seen a couple reviews that make me a bit uneasy. Would you recommend it?
This is one of the best video that I have seen in recent time. Wonderful camera work. Please show us more of your creations. By the way what camera did you use?
I love your vids. Been following for some time. I even enjoy your vids on various airlines (might be my most favorite since I've flown cross- Atlantic a couple of times...in coach). But what I really want to know is do you tire of the luxury? It seems to me that over time, the more one has access to luxury, the more one needs-- the cup is never full. Nevertheless, your vids are very well-executed. I will say I enjoy viewing the landscapes more than actual resorts themselves.
Hi there, thank you for your kind comment. Actually, it's not the luxury that does it for me in most cases (although this RU-vid channel now focuses on that). For me personally, the setting and natural surroundings are much more important. I am just a huge fan of grandiose landscapes and ultimate wilderness experiences (but I don't show that here). I wish you safe travels!
The area you first showed and labeled Queen's Bath, is not Queen's Bath. The next area you showed that's completely enclosed is Queen's Bath. Safe during calm ocean conditions but deadly when the ocean is rough.
St Regis is one of my favorite hotel brand, but this one is really disapointing ... I must say that the 5 last minutes are phenomenal... Overall, an amazing job on all you Hawaii's videos, now my wife is joining me for our Saturday ritual on our large TV screen :)
Nice to hear from you again. Wow, honored that I am part of your weekly routine :). St Regis is one of my favorite brands as well, but they need to revamp this resort urgently since it's not up (anymore) to the usual St Regis standards. The surroundings are out of this world though!
Excellent and fair evaluation of the hotel. Understatement: "...food is very expensive." VERY expensive. Prices to stay can be astronomical. We have vacationed on Kaua'i for 30+ years and have watched the evolution of the hotel over those years, including a stay for the "soft opening" after the destruction of Hurricane 'Iniki. This iteration is not the best, my opinion. Previous ones were much more "Hawai'ian" yet still elegant. Lunch on the terrace was eliminated. Shame. Suggestion: eat in town to enjoy variety in Princeville and Hanalei. Otherwise, the View, the View, the View!
The St. Regis no longer owns this property and this is closed as of now. The new owners plan to remodel the resort and it should be open sometime May 2022. It’s really a shame it is closed right now.
Another great video, just wondering where you got the music for this video I know you said in an older video where you got your music from but can’t remember what one 🤗. PS have happy new year from Scotland x
Visited this hotel in the 1980s. I remember the gorgeous views. It used to be a Sheraton Hotel. I did not stay here as the beaches in this area are not the best.
I see this was filmed in 2017, but more recent reviews give the impression the facility has gotten worse? Do you know if it's still as good as it was in 2017?
Location might be great and the island has a lot of stunning beauty, but judging the resort by the pictures it looks like very outdated, overcrowded and the breakfast far away from anything you would expect from a five star hotel.
I just wanted to add that I just looked online for this hotel, and it is reported as permanently closed. (I know the video was uploaded about 5 years ago!)
Unfortunately, this St. Regis property is lacking in all departments compared to most other St. Regis resorts. The lobby, spa, view, beach, food, everything. Even the crowds and noise level is unacceptable! So disappointing compared to other Kauai resorts.
Such a stunning lobby and then in back you have always one kid screaming like a cat in pain for no reason to ruin the ambience, some resorts should ban chidrens.. but as always nice vid.
OK but here's the thing: these "top-of-the-top" resorts are specifically for child-hating snobs, so even I as a lover of children (and animals too) think it's pretty retarded to bring your Ruiner-Kid along with you to these types of hotels. These hotels are for business meetings and snobby childless couples. Get that rat out of the lobby and into an also-very-nice average Kauai condo. Thing should be arrested for disorderly conduct. The charge would stick, too, because it's so broadly written. The only other place kids should be arrested for disorderly is on the airplane. Ship the kid separately, or mix some vicodin in their applesauce before the flight.
That'll learn you not to go around calling people names. You can't argue with ignorance -- the only way to teach ignorant people is with fear. Show 'em exactly what happens to 'em when they run their mouth.
Unfortunately no. I will start a new series of hotel trip reports in January. I still have some footage about the Grand Hyatt Kauai but I will upload that clip later.
What a stupid and confusing concept of having two separate elevators to get to where you want to go in a single building. If you feel you need to have those, then there must be something wrong with your hotel design.
the Luxury Travel Expert I'm assuming you just use credit cards for the points? But what about other properties? How do you stay there? Is it deals or the just your status?
You've re-written the book on vlog/reviews of resorts. Sadly, even you could not make this look better. Once a Sheraton, always a Sheraton. A St. Regis this is not.
ALOHA, I WAS MOVING, TO FIND EXTRA, FOR MY LIFETIME, AFTER I LEASED, AT PUAMANA 7B, I REQUEST: "IF "ONA", MY THEN NEIGHBOR, NEXT DOOR, CULTIVATED THE SAME?"
Well done. Does the pricing at St. Regis keep blacks and browns away? I can tolerate a few yellows (just a few), but I definitely don’t want blacks and browns around. (Shriekers, do you call this RAAAAACCCISS? I just don’t give a damn.)
Hi I have been following you for a long time now.I just want to say that out of all the island rezorts you showed from Thailand, Maldives, Vietnam, and other islands, Hawaii rezorts was my least favourite. I dont know why the island gets so much undeserved attention.
The Hawaiian resorts - most of them built on a large scale - are not the best in the world indeed (but far from bad either). However, IMHO, the Hawaiian island definitely deserve a spot on everyone's bucket list because the scenery (mountains, rainforest, volcanoes, beaches) is fabulous! Just watch the last 10 minutes of my clip and you know why I like the islands - especially Kauai - so much.
Reem it's because it's in the United States. Yes it's not as nice but the lack of any kind of cultural barrier and the administrative ease of traveling there (no passport, e.g.) is a huge plus.
ALLEGEDLY: "HAPPY EASTER", THANK YOU PAST NEIGHBOR' S KIND, FOR YOUR RECOMMENDATION, IN POLITESSE, TO AVOID CONTENTIONS. YEAH, I FEEL, I AM "HER' TING", FOR "HOMES& HONEYS& MONEYS"."

looks like a 3 stars resort. Nothing special. Serving cereal is so cheap. "Broccoli fried Rice"? are you fking kidding me? Such low budget food for a resort.
