Hi, If you have a look at the comments below, this question was previously asked by Beta Beta, and I put all the info I have in my respinse to him. Unfortunately, my phone wouldn't let me cut and paste that info into here, so I'm afraid I can only refer you to the answer previously given.
+beta beta There's a nice gent by the name of Ad, in Holland who had them made and is selling them. If you go the STowners forum, there's a thread in the ST1100 tech section about them. If this works, there will be a link below ( if not, at least a URL you can cut and paste. All the details are there. www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?147762-Clear-lenses-for-the-front-turninglights-ST1100
www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?147762-Clear-lenses-for-the-front-turninglights-ST1100 this link will take you to a thread on the ST-OWNERS club forum, which will provide full details on the modification, and how to purchase.
Im actually interested how you mounted and installed a Radio and speakers on your ST! been looking for good setup for it... Any information, and links would be great, and maybe vid how it looks on the bike? thnx
Two Speakers are mounted inside the fairing, using the existing bolts. Two on the Rear top-box, cables run down the LH side of the bike, and controller mounted on the LH grip. Main unit is mounted behind the seat in the tail hump. Antenna stuck top center of top-box. I have a USB stick with about 500 tracks on it plugged in, which is all I play. SD card, and AM/FM Radio are available too. It's a Shark system, and sound was quality is okay,. Comes with wired, and wireless, remote controllers. Good value for the money really. Apart from the basic kit, I had to add extension cables to the front speakers and controller, to be able to reach, and I added an additional fuse block, for this, and other, accessories. Had to take Tupperware off of the LH side to run the wiring, but otherwise straightforward install. I'd recommend Googling " Motorcycle Audio Equipment ", as a beginning to find a system that suits you. Do your research as to what is included, and what else you need to complete the install. There is a lot of good information and advice on the ST-Owners forum.
@@jamesleslie9352 thnx! will search for more info online... how big are the speakers up front, and how is the sound from them? I believe i have seen a set like this, but then on Alibaba online..
@@olafvh No worries. I have some work to do on the bike today, but if I can find time, I'll try to get a short vid to show the set-up, and capture the sound.. ..whilst trying not to have it banned for copyright infringement.
Hi Dave, I used resistors(they came with the LED units, but am contemplating replacing the flasher unit. I just have another project on the go for a friend's bike at the minute, before I can get onto it. If I was doing again, I'd definitely like up another flasher, before starting. The resistors really reduce light output on the Amber.
+James Leslie Hello, where is the best place to install the resistors. I've heard they get very hot so I'm reluctant to install them in the mirror housing. Ironically, I fitted a different led relay and the fronts indicators don't work at all so I'm having to plumb in the original resistors. 😤
dave olden sorry for the delay in responding. I tucked them inside the main fairing. I have recently switched to LED flasher units, with a view of converting the rears (all lights) to LED. still only the fronts are LED, but working well.
videobyallen There is very nice Dutch gentleman, who had the mould made had a 1,000 sets produced, and is selling them. if you go the ST owners club forum, there is an entire thread on these, with full details of how to purchase, and posts from those (like myself), who has. I'm on my phone at the moment, but while try to get a link to the thread posted later from my laptop.
Happy to answer all sensible questions. The clear lenses I got from a gent on the ST Owners forum. If you read through previous comments and replies, this is already detailed. The switchback LED's , I got with ballast resistors from Suprbright LED's.com, and later replaced the ballast resistors with LED compatible flasher units, which I got from Amazon. Having said all that, apart from the clear lenses, there are multiple sources for the other items, so just because I used one source, doesn't mean you have to use tge same. A Little bit of internet research will show you the options available.
