I would like to mention one critical thing. The "working range" given on most of the stabilizers is a gimmick of sorts. You would expect that a stabilizer with a working range of 170-270v would keep the output b/w 200-250v as long as input is b/w 170-270v and cutoff the supply if voltage falls below 170 or goes beyond 270. But the cutoff usually doesnt happen at the right voltage which increases the chances of your appliances getting too low or too high of a voltage. A microtek stabilizer i had (170-270) didnt cut off till 130v and was outputting around 150v at 130v input which is dangerous. For people having grid voltage between 200-250v 90%+ of the time i suggest get the cutoff device instead of a stabilizer since it would atleast reliabily save you from dangerous voltages. Set high and low cutoff of the device at 200 and 250 respectively since this voltage range is safe for appliances. If your grid voltage is outside this range more than 5-10% of the time then you need a stabilizer and protection relay both.

Thank you for the good explanation. From your explanation a voltage protector seems to be useless. Maybe for those who are in Torrent power I heard the voltage is very stable and grid pe bharosa kar sakthe hai :-P Power lines are udnerground and the Transformers have voltage protectors in it. For everyone else who is on goverment power grids then stablilzer is the only option. Yes there is another scenario where it can be used. My ac can operate from 90 to 280 volts. My refrigerator can operate without stablizer from 100 to 270 volts. I am here on this video because at night voltage goes upto 267 and I think it goes above 270 and my refrigerator cuts off. I had to repair my fridge twice. Here I guess for my ac we can set it to cut at 280 volts. If all your appliances are stablizer free you can put this just for extra safety of other equipment like lights fan etc.

सर, आप ने वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर और स्टेपलाज़र पर बहुत ही आ अच्छी जानकारी प्रदान की। जैसा की आप ने बताया कि वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर केवल high cut/ low cut करता है। वहीं स्टेपलाज़र भी वोल्टेज करेक्ट और high cut/low cut करता है मगर स्टेपलाज़र के साथ सबसे बड़ी समस्या ये है कि ये पूरी तरह वोल्टेज को स्थिर नहीं रखता बस उसे करेक्ट करने का प्रयास करता है। online ups के साथ समस्या ये है कि ये सब काम कर देता है। वोल्टेज प्रोटेक्टर, स्टेपलाज़र का व CVT का मगर बैटरी जो बहुत महँगी होती है वो उपयोग में लानी होती है इसे boot/चालू करने के लिए भले ही आप बाद में सावधानी पूर्वक बैटरी के कनेक्शन खोल दे आप को बैकअप नहीं मिलेगा मगर प्योर व स्थिर करंट मिलेगा। प्रश- क्या मार्केट में ऐसा कोई स्टेपलाज़र उपलब्ध है क्या जो पूरी तरह प्योर और स्थिर आउटपुट जैसे 230 या 240 वोल्ट देता हो, शायद नहीं।

Thanks. 1. Online UPS accha hai lekin kaafi inefficient hai. Bill badha dega. Ise double conversion UPS bhi kehte hai. 2. Stable output Servo Stabilizer se mil sakta hai. Example amzn.to/3Ra3UFd 3. Ek aur upay yeh hai ki off grid solar system laga kar mains to OFF kar diya jaye. Atleast Computer, TV jaise load ke liye yeh asani se kiya jaa sakta hai jaise mai kar raha hu.

@@ZenHomeAppliances 🙏 आप ने बिलकुल सही बताया है सर, लेकिन हमारे यहाँ वोल्टेज का इतना ज्यादा up down है कि नार्मल स्टेपलाज़र का relay खराब हो जाता है। बार बार के bust buck में और सर्वो स्टेपलजर की मोटर जल्दी खड़ खड़ की आवाज करने लगती है। cvt 180 वोल्ट के नीचे जाने पर काम नहीं करती है या आऊटपुट को कम कर देता है। इसलिए online ups ही ठीक लगता है। इसकी सबसे बड़ी समस्या यही है कि ये बिना बैटरी के boot नहीं होता है भले ही हमे backup की जरूरत हो या न हो। इसलिए 72 वोल्ट अर्थात 6 बैटरी के द्वारा online ups को बूट करते है फिर बैटरी कनेक्शन हटा देते है ताकि लाइट गोल होने पर बैटरी से बैकअप न ले क्योंकि पैसा बचाने के चक्कर मे खरीदी गई बैटरी कम ah रेटिंग की है। अब इसके अलावा केवल एक ही विकल्प बचत है वो है "स्टेटिक स्टेपलाज़र" इसके बारे में ज्यादा जानकारी नही है न ही लोकल मार्केट में उपलब्ध है।🙏🙏🙏

The conclusion was not the best. You cannot say that voltage stabilizer will cost just Rs.300/400 more. Since a voltage protector would be rated upto 63Amps but a stabilizer at that price would only protect just one AC at best. A Mainline stabilizer would cost about 30-50K approximately if output exceeds 40Amps. So it really depends on multiple factors. Decision Points : 1. Is the requirement just for one or two devices or whole house - Since if whole house needs to be covered & if the house energy requirement goes above 20 amps at a time, its better to get a voltage protection device and not stabilizer 2. Is the problem of under/over voltage constant or intermittent - If the problem is constant then you need to get a stabilizer since if voltage is continuously problematic then voltage protection device will keep cutting off the power.

I am confused which stablizer should i buy for my laptop adapter protection? I have 2 laptop, out put of both laptop is 7.5 amp and 1.5 amp. Also recently both adapter got short circuited , i am living in village area so the problem is 3 phase light unstable plus raining at same time so transformer got overload i think so according me. One query about stabiliser operations: I use V Guard VWI400 for my 1-ton split type inverter aircon, and I know it’s normal for stabiliser to make occasional clicking sounds when I know it’s stabilising voltages, but the question comes when sometimes I hear and sense the a/c indoor unit speeding up or slowing down with the clicks. Is this normal? Or is the stabiliser malfunctioning?

If the ac is changing speed, it's very likely you have a non inverter ac. Or atleast the indoor motor is non inverter. Coming to your stabilizer, verify that the output voltage is between 210 to 250v. Any thing outside this range might harm the ac.

I am using vguard vwr 400 ac voltage stabilizer for my 1.5 ton ac... Since very recently I can see the input and output voltage of the stabilizer is coming same. Like both are 245 volts, even when the input voltage come 210 volt output voltage also come 210 volt, I was wondering what is the purpose of using stabilizer when input output both same ? I am concerned about if It goes like that if the life span of my ac would affect badly ? Please reply sir.. hopefully waiting for someone to reply

Hi, I found this video useful and thank you for the information. I bought new LED for my hometown and i rarely visit there. But the power fluctuation is very high. Should i go for protector or stabiliser? Inverter not installed over there. Just need to protect my home appliances , lights fan LED TV etc. i stay there for a week in a two month. Please recommend🙂

We have installed v guard best stabilizers with higher rating at each of our ogeneral inverter ac but after that also 4 pcb failed . Then we installed additional servo stabilizer 40 kva in mainline without removing the existing stabilizers and after that also 1 pcb failed , 1 TV failed , 1 speaker power supply failed and 2 chargers failed. What can be the problem. Neutral is checked not loose. What additional protection do we need to have. Please advice. Can we run the vrv indoor units consuming power approx 100w on online ups like vertical Emerson so that at least the indoor units don't fail. Please advice

Looks like you might have additional problems like weak earth or high moisture causing pcb damage. It needs to be checked professionally.

I'm thinking use both. Let me tell you why. Stabilizer job is increase or decrease voltage to good working range for your appliances . Ok. But every stablizer does not work front he range given or mentioned. So suppose a stablizer is 120v to 250v . But it will give output 200v from 150v input . So you can buy under over voltage protection and set the input and output voltage to the exact voltage at which stablizer is giving 200v output . In this way no matter what happens your stablizer will get current or supply of current only when input voltage is atleast 150v . So most of the time your output will be 200v . This is will be huge beneficial for air conditioner. 2nd scenario. You can use under and over voltage protector after voltage stabilizer. So first voltage stablizer gives out then that output goes to your under over voltage protector and whatever range you set you will only get that power for your devices which will never corrupt your devices like inverter.

We have 4KW solar rooftop. Generally voltage is between 230-250V but during afternoon when solar is at peak (mostly between 12-2PM) voltage ranges from 245-265V. We have Luminous inverter in home and I have set it on UPS Mode so if voltage goes above 260V then power is switched to inverter. So in this case inverter points such as PC, TV, etc are safe without stabilizer? Should I install stabilizer? If yes then which stabilizer? We have following load: PC, Printer - 1 Refrigerator- 1 TV- 2 Geyser- 2 Water Pump- 1 Oven- 1 Washing Machine- 1 Mixer- 1 Dishwasher- 1 And LED tubes and Fans

@@ZenHomeAppliances Battery consumption isn't a issue for me because this issue happens for 1-2 hours per day and during that time we don't use electricity much may be we use mixer or fan and rarely we use computer at that time. But safety of appliances is very much important. So if battery consumption point is excluded then will you recommend adding stabilizer?

Mene acer ka laptop liya tha, within 5 months mujhe uska charger change karna pada, tab mein urban mein tha, within warranty tha isiliye it was free, after 1 year again i lost my charger, now i am in rural ( i can see voltage fluctuations in my vguard stabilizer of fridge) i am using GM spike guard and it seems its useless for the laptop charger, charger acer brand ka hai, cost around 5000, of brand charger is cheaper but may cause dmg to laptop. I don't want to change my charger every year, i don't want to use unknown brand charger. Stabilizer kya meri problem solve karega?
