I've been asked about how to get stable diffusion working on Windows instead of doing it on Linux. I looked around and saw that there was a directml version of stable diffusion on github. Here's a link to the github: github.com/lsh...
I tried it out and this is the working version of it. I used my trusty AMD RX 6900xt for this experiment. if you have a card with less vRAM and run into issues, try making smaller images until it works out for you. I apologize for the black frames, I guess obs studio didn't capture the windows prompt for admin access.
I didn't use any commands to set it up. they have a batch script that depends on python 3.10.6 being installed as well being added to Path. git needs to be installed. I go over how to install both of these dependencies.
0:00 intro
0:47 install python 3.10.6 and git
2:40 clone the repository
3:35 run webui-user batch script from repository
4:30 working webui and image generation
the 6700xt is good because it's a reasonably priced gpu with 12 Gigabytes of vRAM and it works well in games too so I'm linking to amazon for it below.

6950xt on amazon: amzn.to/3r8xx1i this is $600 at the time of posting, pretty good deal I think 16GB vRAM and it is supported in linux's ROCm if you want to do more training and stuff.
