Hi Denny, my husband and I have been following your videos on Guyana. Having been living abroad for nearly 50 years now, it's wonderful to see Guyana again and the changes. We enjoy seeing the foods, we miss so much. The freshness of it all. You're doing a wonderful job, keep it up. We appreciate it and thank you for doing this. 💕
This walk down memory lane was enjoyable . We originally left 1970 and seeing the places we knew and the changes there now was nostalgic. again thank you.
That was nice. Lived in Guyana with parents from 1971 to 1974. Never been back. Thanks so much for this video. Been wanting to go back for so many years for a visit.
Your positive attitude and the great footage of Guyana is the reason I truly enjoy and share your vlogs with family and friends. Greetings from the U.S.A. Peace.
Thank you for showing Guyana, My entire family is Guyanese but all left the country. I’ve never been, but thanks to your videos and some others, some of us are now thinking of visiting next year. Thanks again!
Thank you Sir.You bring back so much memories of my beautiful country of Guyana.I hope to come back to see what I missed for the last 48 years.Keep on upoading these great videos.
Warm greetings from New York Denny. Awesome video. Love it. Thank you very much for using your precious time, labor & money into making this video. Really appreciate it. Thank you very much for sharing. God bless you Denny.
Very good and informative video. Really helps to see and get a clear understanding of the current situation around Stabroek & Kingston areas. Thanks & keep up the good work.
I was born in Georgetown in 1952 when it was still BG (British Guyana). My family left in 1954 because they saw independence and communism coming. I never visited the country sine we left in 1954..I showed my 86yo mother this video and she recognizes the areas you showed in this video.. Hopefully I'll visit sometime soon to check out the country. Thank you for a great video! Keep up the good work!
@@Gracetochange I don't recall Guyana ever becoming communist. What happened after Independence was a Government that was Dictatorial, Incompetent and Corrupt. They nationalized the profitable foreign owned companies, treated them like their personal piggy banks and lawlessness took over. The writing was on the wall - Get out if you can and save yourselves - the talented and educated started leaving the country in large numbers heading to the U.S., Britain and Canada. Guyana was no longer a safe and decent place to live and raise a family. I think those sentiments are still the same.
Thank you for bringing back some amazing memories as a little boy growing up in Georgetown continue doing what you are doing and stay positive as you always say . Blessings
Thanks for showing the video clip I haven't been back home since 99 and I appreciate what you're doing for us Guyanese and people abroad... showing some respect from Toronto
Started viewing your videos a couple days ago, so lovely! Denny you're really good at what you're doing! Love the improvements I've seen there! Your personality is lovely! Well done!!
Wow!Guyana stores is still around, remembered this store in the 80's,Iived in Ketley street in Charlestown.wish I could see how this place looks now.keep up the good work.
Good to know the people in Guyana live in unity. Keep up the video taping so the people in foreign countries can see what Guyana looks like different parts.
Omg another superp blog I used to take a taxi from where I lived to stabrook market and then walk to Indians high school I am not sure if that school is still around I still remember all those Beautiful memories walking with my friends to school thanks for this fabulous video . Love from Miami 👍❤❤
This is an excellent video. I will surely be unable to find my way around after 47 years away from Guyana. I've looked at my of your prior videos they are all GREAT especially this one. I feel very emotional when I view the scenes. I really cannot believe how tiny the streets appear and how crazy the driving is; the honking of the vehicles' horns. Everything seems so confusing. Thank again, sir, for a job well done.
Hats off to you bro for having the courage and patience dealing with the guyanese people back home, so many hostility and ignorance for you to deal with when trying to make a video so people around the world can see what Guyana is all about , I pray and hope these people catch up with the changes that going on in the country because most of them still lagging behind the wheel
Nice video I did enjoy, Guyana stores back in days was Bookers Store / supermarket, then Republic Bank was Royal Bank of Canada ( then GBTI was Barclays Bank
Amazing footage as usual .. appreciate the time and effort that went into bringing the memories into our living rooms. On a personal level please make sure that you are safe.I got robbed years ago in Stabroek area and was just cringing for most part of the video.Have a happy day Happy people
Good work, bro! The benab was built in 1972 for the Carifesta celebrations. It was built by our indigenous brothers and used by the Burnhamites as their meeting place when I was there.
Hello Denny, enlightening video. A far cry today from the Georgetown of the 1970s. I think I saw St. Stanislaus College during your walk around of the Parliament building. The area that you said was a park used to be a Government Ministry Building with an Arts and Craft Gift shop on the ground floor.
Hi guys how are you doing ? Kingston that’s my neighbor hood I was born and grew up part of my life on Duke st. Then then moved to linden It has changed wow . Thanks for the tour
So much development in the area. Used to roam the area on weekends growing up in G.T. Thanks Danny for being able to bring the awesome videos to the Guyanese folks aboard. Hats off to you buddy. (Andrew).
Great vlog! You took me back to yesteryears. The good old days... If possible, please show around commerce street like this in details. Would love to see how the place looks like now. Especially around the Penthouse Hotel & Hacks Halal restaurant area. It would be great to see that place! Thanks for showing around!
Nice vlog and great memories...! Kingston and Stabrook areas looks decent. Continue the positive attitude in the midst of some "suspicious mindset" on the roads because you are about with a camera. Lol.
Thank you for these videos. It’s really nice to see Guyana from your perspective. My parents left in 1977, I was 5 so it’s nice to see the transformation.
These are beautiful memories bro............I grew up in Princess STREET, Charlestown so I frequently traversed these areas with my grandfather and my aunty and uncle. Thank you for sharing brother

I love all your videos pretty awesome... I'm from Belize and I look forward for all your videos. What was that lovely song you were playing in the background the first one?
Hi Denny, Where the Muneshwers building now lies, near the round about, was once owned by Sanbach Parker, which was bought by Mr. Muneshwers (the original building was burnt down.) Só Mr. Muneshwers had it rebuilt The other Muneshwers branch was owned by Bettencourt's. I have photographs of the original buildings. Guyana stores was once Booker's.
Wilfred Koo great info I don’t know these buildings because I moved to the city in mid 90s kindly post those pictures online so the younger generation including myself can see our historical buildings. Or kindly what’s app me on 917-293-3080. If it’s ok for me to post.
You didn't show Cowan Street in Kingston, I use to live there then we move to Kitty. Looking at your video brings back memories, I migrate to New York 18 yrs ago. Nice looking at your video. Thanks❤
Nice video, the hostile lady made me laugh, I thought she was talking to her man or something, those kind are all over, guess just have to stay away from them like nowadays sayings. Thanks for all the patience and hard work you put in to promote Guyana. Maybe you should run for president lol. Are you of Ameridian decent by the way?
I Support the parking meter in Georgetown reason why if the money can go in to clean that area manishwar building that was Booker's when I was a child I used to walk in Kingston any hour of the night as a east indian Georgetown need to be clean the city look more worst now and in burnam time donkey city went a out in the British days auto supply never build back I live two blocks from there
Mirza Khan I do not have a problem with the parking meter however the price and policies that govern it is what myself and fellow Guyanese have a problem with. A good paying job pays US $25 and parking is 1 dollar an hour which leaves a worker after an 8 hour shift with US $17. I think US $.50 per hour would have been reasonable.
Mirza Khan maybe these videos will bring awareness to the leaders of this country if they ever see them. It might encourage them to do more to enhance Georgetown.
Love ur video... I stay away from home fourteen year's & start back traveling every year even purchased a house love my country bad i just c American, just to work. Love home bad weather it's crime or not America have more damn crime
Jared Dickson, please don't sugarcoat the ignorant behaviour of some Guyanese by saying they were sly comments. That lady was downright hostile! I've had some scary experiences around Georgetown.
The lady who said she wanted to break your camera, those are the persons who scared tourist away ,and who would rob persons and encourage violence in guyana.
Lakshmi Jaundoo the reason I didn’t edit the video is that I want my fellow Guyanese that lives here to understand that in order for us to have real change we must condemn wrong doing and respect each other and learn to coexist. We must be aware that our actions can be seen around the world so we must change our attitude and do so fast. And by the way they were a few women by the bus I’m not sure which one made the remarks.
Paul Feroze Land line is around US20. And cell phone depending on the service plan. It range from US$30 , $40 $50 my cell phone bill usually be around $70. All these plans include internet. Without internet its a little cheaper.
When I left in the 80's it was just the same, went back in 2005 and still the same to the present day. No-one did anything to change it throughout. But I think I'm wrong.... there was a police that died from the US, he was a Guyanese and was going to be buried at home and cops from all over North America went to the funeral a few years ago. There was a massive clean-up and the place looked beautiful I heard. I still have relatives there and I saw a video of the city. It was amazingly clean after many years. Many people were happy to have a job at that time. It was just before the 50th anniversary of Independence and I was impressed. Even Le Repentir got a major overhaul and the security was very tight at the time. The present government was in then, but I think it's neglected again and that should not be, the city and surrounding areas should always be a priority.
