Thanks for you no B.S. comparison of the 2 Staccato's. I have the C2 and it is a great gun to shoot. My only negative comment is I feel the grip profile at the bottom prints worse than other options. However, it has been a rock solid performer. Split times are not a consideration for me at my age, but pointablity and accuracy of follow-up shots are. Thanks!
I'm a new subscriber and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the content! I've been looking for some solid comparisons / reviews of the the CS and C2 and you have provided plenty of both. Excellent shooter as well! I have a CS now and hoping to trade it for a C2 Limited tomorrow. I'm with you on the CS. It's great for what it's made for, but I just find myself wanting more out of it.
C2 is better all day long. Feels better in my hand and the aluminum frame model is just stupidly light, it weighs less than my Smith and Wesson m&p9 m2.0 compact.
Couldn’t agree with you more. CS is way too snappy for its size. I was shooting the P, C2 and the CS at the range and I did not enjoy shooting the CS at all, which’s why I no longer own the CS. I was extremely disappointed as I had to wait 5 months for the CS. The recoil on the CS was worse than my stock P365 in my opinion.
The CS is an anomaly. I hear many people talk about how snappy it is and how it’s no better than the C2, but then there are just as many saying it’s a soft shooting gun. I’m in the soft shooting camp. I had the P and the C2 and I was one of the people who had issues with the way the grip was made that caused my shooting hand thumb to get beaten half to death. The CS grip doesn’t cause that issue for me. The P was the nicest and most accurate Staccato I’ve shot, but between the CS and C2, I’m taking the CS all day. My wife, who is very recoil sensitive, shot my CS next to my G45 and she said she felt that the CS had less recoil than the Glock. I’m certainly not discounting anyone who calls the CS snappy, and I completely understand that recoil is a subjective thing, but I’m amazed at how wildly different the experience is from one person to the next. Good that there are multiple options available so that there is something for everyone. I’m waiting for a Staccato P with the CS style grip but just a tad longer. That will be an amazing gun!
Got both guns. Talon Pro grip tape is a game-changer for both. CS is much more comfortable to carry AIWB. Both guns are tackdrivers @25yds. C2 good out to 50yds+. Zero malfunctions w both models after thousands of rnds. Great triggers. No complaints.
Great video man, love watching you shoot! Im looking to pickup a 1911 commander size for a little something different. I usually carry a g19 or MR920. I cant afford a 2011 yet but i want to get into the 1911 platform. Im looking hard at the tisas stingray. Thanks for your efforts putting these videos out.
I am happy to own both. If you can only afford one please please go with the C2. I do find the CS more comfortable in the summer months. The shorter slide and lighter weight go a long way for me when it comes to comfort in the summer. You are absolutely right when you say they conceal about the same. Comfort on the other hand I will go with the CS especially in the hot summer months.
Being you have in hand experience with both I have a question. Would you take a C2 or wait for the new C this summer? I have small hands (women’s medium) and it seems everyone says the slight difference in profile on the grips does make a difference. I have adjust slightly to properly reach the trigger on a Glock 17. Everything I’ve seen online looks like the difference in any of the Staccatos would be enough so I wouldn’t have to shift. I don’t have any way to handle the Staccatos in person but found a c2 decked out about six hours away at a very good deal.
@@OdesiusKrosathe new c might fit your hands better but it will definitely have more felt recoil due to its weight. The c2 is thick but companies do offer grip reductions. I wear a large male glove and it fits me nicely. Lately I have been carrying the original c. It may be less in the capacity department but it’s the perfect weight and size. The grip is significantly slimmer and much shorter than the c2 and cs. You may want to consider it. They are probably being sold at pretty good deals now too.
I own both and can say they aren’t comparable guns. In fact they take completely different mags (the proprietary mags that are sold out everywhere is a problem for sure). Mine having the flat trigger but no over travel set screw is dumb. They are not the same 😆. Not even close. It’s light and smaller whether you want to admit it or not. Your comp and light make the C2 flatter. The dang Dawson designed recoil assembly is literally the same. I think the short grip on the C2 is dumb. I prefer the full size P/XL/XC grip on the C2. But have XL large hands. Use a tactical development magwell on my 2024 CS. We were hitting USPSA size steel @ 180 yesterday with Supervel ammo pretty consistently. Every 3-4 rds..
this review as well as a few other make me glad i went with prodigy project gun instead of the cs. at first people made it seem like it was shooting like the c2 or the P. it didn’t make sense but the truth is out now. c2 is definitely the better gun and slightly cheaper
I am seriously considering the PRODIGY. Now it's between the 5" or 4.25"? As I have a Commander 1911. Attempting to make a decision. As I really like the design and the steel frame. Again the quality and price is excellent. Ferrari vs Lamborghini. We love this stuff. And our equipment for protection, fun, and investments.
@@BaddFrogg777 definitely consider it. i love mine. the fit and finish on a staccato is better, but when it comes to how it shoots, the 4.25 prodigy shoots almost identically. both soft and flat. if that extra $1000 means something to you, don’t feel like you have to spend it to get a good gun.
@@will-zj5gq Fortunately $ not a problem. Worked hard and long. Earned/O.T., invested/Land, and saved. Next job dream job. Going with the CABOT APOCALYPSE after. But will get the extra custom parts for it. Dawson Precision,.. etc.. Did the Wilson Combat Flat Wire Spring Assembly on a D.E 1911 C BUL Factory. Unbelievable...Double Tap's easy as pie. Run's like I never imagined and Pachmayr rubber grip's. Retired young and range in backyard. NIRVANA....Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.
Thanks for doing this review, I have the C2 and was looking at the CS but your review and what other folks are saying is that the CS doesn't live up to all the hype.
I own the C2, CS, I do not have the C2 comped. In my opinion the CS recoils considerably less than the C2. The trigger is also better in my CS than my C2. I carry appendix, and I never liked to carry the C2 because it was a little too big for that type of carry, the CS is perfect for appendix carry, even though side by side it doesnt seem to be much of a difference, it is very noticable when it is time to carry it concealed.
So you don’t think the comp & the weight of the light make a difference in recoil? You want to show us a comparison try making the video apples to apples, don’t slant the outcome with your thumb on the scale. I would like to see a straight up comparison no comp no light.
Been trying to decide on which platform to go with and your review helped me make up my mind. C2 it is, solid work and greatly appreciate your content.
I have the C2 and had the CS. Loved them both. Couldn't see a real advantage with the CS for ME...ita an AWESOME GUN. Zero complaints just prefer the C2 with that little extra sight radius and less muzzle rise..i also have a WC SFX 9. It might be just a tad better but ita also quite a bit more expensive. My C2 has a 507K dot and thw SFX 9 has irons.....totally in love with both...IMO you can't go wrong with any WC or Staccato...and AWESOME REVIEW
I have the Staccato C2 and WC SFX9 and the Staccato is way more fun to shoot. I have lots of failure to feed with the SFX9 whoch has never happened even once on either of the Staccatos. The WC SFX9 in 3.25” with 15 round grip version has 2x the recoil of the Staccato C2. I never sell guns, so I’m going to keep it, but I’ll never carry it. Update: bought another Staccato C2 so both the wife and I can carry them. The Wilson SFX9 is back at Wilson to see if they can get their product to work properly. I made a video of the failures which I may upload someday.
Awesome review and detailed perspective. Gun shops near me don't have them in stock. So your work and effort is greatly appreciated. As we all make decisions on purchasing STACCATO's. Awesome, crazy fast, and controlled use of skills. Fun, relaxed, and sincere... Thanks for taking the time. Stay safe. Best Regards,
I also have a C2 and couldn't justify the CS, so I went towards Wilson Combat's EDC X9 3.25", been my carry ever since. In the winter I still carry the C2, summer the X9.
I’ve got the cs, c2, P Dawson, and XC. For me the c2 is fucking MONEY as a carry gun. Faster than all fuck but you gotta train!!! I put 1000 rds through my cs before I carried it. I’m sub 2 seconds bill drill. However if I’m carrying in a holster owb I carry the xc. It’s a lightning bolt. It’s super flat, heckin fast, and plain fun. Carrying the cs iwb apendix vs the c2 is a PITA. The cs disappears and its streamlined to reduce snags. The c2 is kinda…idk feels like a waste in the range of the pistols.
I just bought my P last month and I’m debating either i get C2 or CS. I feel like buying a C2 while i have the P is a waste of money?? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance and i love your video!
The CS would be the better “Concealed Carry” pistol as it’s mags/frame was purpose built around a 9mm length cartridge- while the C2 is the old school/standard 2011 which is modified to shoot 9mm from a .45 ACP size frame. That said, I’m all in with the C2. I have a pair that Monsoon did their Genghis Comp on/Optics/Trigger Work.
*GR1videos* What is your opinion recoil wise on a C2 ported vs C2 limited w/Ice comp ? I was thinking I can buy a C2 and have it ported and painted . For right about the same as I would pay for a C2 limited with Dawsons comp. Slight difference in Trigger pull weights and x series cuts . Butttttttttttttttttt????? Would appreciate your input should you chose to respond . Thanks
I like the standard C2 with the port solely because of its size. The C2 with the ice comp does shoot softer but not by much and in my opinion is harder to carry than the standard C2.
Really enjoy all your STI/Staccato videos man. Questions, do you happen to have any of your ambi safeties still that you'd want to re-home? If so, how can I get a hold of you?
Hey man, I got a question. I have a CS and a C2 both have had issues with the firing pin hanging up and sticking out a quarter inch. C2 made it 1200 ish rounds before it happened and CS about 500 rounds. Is cleaning the firing pin channel a required part of maintenance?
It could be a couple of different things. First, depending on the round count, you could have a broken or weak firing pin spring. Second, if you spray lube into the firing pin hole it could cause excessive carbon build up. Third, you could have a firing pin hole that is out of spec or possibly have a burr on it. Easiest thing to do is remove the firing pin and inspect the spring and firing pin channel for excessive buildup. If that doesn’t fix it, I’d send them in.
@GR1videos thanks for the reply, so I did end up cleaning out the channel. Was told it was from the sealed primer on the ammo I was using “GECO 115 grain” so I got them both cleared up, then put maybe 500 more thru the C2 with Federal American Eagle 124g and it happened again for the C2. I just find it strange since I can’t find hardly anything about this happening.
That’s bout what I thought I watched a guy not shoot but talked bout cs like it outshoot anything under the sun and he might push guns for staccato cause he had maybe 10 and I said to him there’s no way it shoots better than a p must less c2,never comment back
6:10 You got what, 1.87 sec on one run, 1.85 sec on another run, and one over 2 sec due to trigger freeze with the CS? I don’t know that I would call that struggling to get under 2 sec. You were 0.09 sec slower with the CS than a larger, comped pistol.
I had the same thought. The CS really held it's own against the comped C2. The CS trigger with no overtravel stop prob contributed to the trigger freeze issue with it's longer overall travel. Unless he changed the trigger? Can't recall...
I know it was hard to hear in the audio, but after the first Bill drill with the C2 I said something along the lines of “that felt slow” but it was actually in the 1.8’s. When I shoot the CS I have to concentrate harder to get the times under 2 seconds. When I shoot the C2 it’s much easier to get to those speeds.
The C2 is more proportionate to a body builder frame like yours. CS goes better for lightweights like me. Conceal carry like the CS relies on close confrontation situations and sufficient, it also depends on what kind of shooting you do.
I have the c2 I recently made the leap and bought it, I went to the range yesterday and I wasn’t blown away by it at all. I may need more time to let it grow on me I actually enjoyed shooting my new Glock 45 over the Staccato yesterday. 700$ beat out 2500$ all day yesterday 😢
Thanks for the honest review. I have been seriously considering ordering a CS through Staccato’s Hero’s program but based on your review an argument can be made for sticking with the C2 instead. Have you compared a Wilson Combat SFX9 4” against either the C2 or CS?
I bought mine through the heroes program. if you get the CS you won’t get a free optics plate or 6 mags. if you buy the C2 you get both of those. The C2 is a much better deal through that program
Put 2,300 rounds through mine, not one malfunction. I was thinking about trading up for the C2. Not sure if I should wait to see if people come out with a comp for it. Or some modification packages for it. What are your thoughts as far as mods for it?
I saw Skip Guns do a port on the CS. My only hold up with that is velocity loss. It’s already a short barrel, if you make it much shorter velocity might drop below an acceptable speed. I’d have to check it for myself on the chronograph
