Aida is correct, there is colorism in the Latino community. Eurocentric features are more embraced in the community and relations with white people gives them a sense of accomplishment
I mean that’s part of it for a bit of people im sure, but to throw colorism at it like it’s the main portion is skipping a huge part of it. Ignoring the fact that a fair portion of Latino communities come from a place where communism literally wrecked their entire country, even though America played a huge part in destabilizing most of those countries, they’re not voting liberal ever. My family from Florida wouldnt vote Democrat if you paid them, my best friends grandparents are straight from Cuba, escaped while Castro still ran shit, theyd die before they hit Democrat in that booth.
@@superPINEAPPLEmonkey America destabilized latin American socialism and communism and convinced the people the blame was solely on communism. It's why even till this day America will secretly destabilize any world government with communist ideological views . Either through sanctions , funding counter rebel groups , or funding the opposing political that supports capitalism and trade that favors America .
@@superPINEAPPLEmonkey The sad thing is that if those Latino communities want to live in a country that is more and more like the country they fled, especially today, then they should literally vote Republican. Marco Rubio doens't give a shit abou them. Desantis REALLY doesn't give a shit about them. It's a combination of poor Dem messaging coupled with Republicans repeating the same lies for decades to that community and propagating fear, and capitalizing on the American phenomenon and ubiquity of the low-information voter. Thankfully it seems young Latinos in Florida are starting to wake up to the GOP grift that has indoctrinated their parents and grandparents for decades. And this isn't to say that the Dem party is perfect by any means, but right now their is one party that is working to extend the benfities of democracy to all in this country, and one activly fighting to shut down democracy. One of the great things about Trump is that he helped illustrate how, at least as far as the GOP is concerned, if you're Latino you ain't white, and you'll never be white, no matter how hard you try.
I am sure we all remember what Killer Mike said on this show about Stacy Abrams and Brian Kemp going into this election. He said Brian Kemp was showing up and the black owned businesses. He was speak with not just republicans but Democrats as well showing "interest" in what they need. Stacy was making videos with celebrities. Mike said if she doesn't start showing up and talking to the people, she will not get their support. Now it is up to those voters to hold Kemp to what ever promises he made during those visits.
I mean personally I think she just took the black vote for granted. A lot of Democrats have a attitude of those blacks aren’t going to vote for Republicans. And for the most part they are actually right however they underestimate the needs of black folks. I believe that’s why she lost.
@@mayankingrevisited8137 It was never about just the black vote or the Democratic vote. She had that and ignored the rest. Kemp had the Republican vote but still went to his voter base and the Democrats in person to speak with them about what they need. Will he do any of those things? Who knows. Probably not but he did show up. Stacy assumed because the state turned blue during the senate races in 2020 she had the governor’s race in the bag with minimum work.
Stacy lost and Warnock is losing because they failed to talk enough about the #1 issue for most people, inflation. Period. The Democatic Party is already being blame for inflation and she couldn't pivot against it. Stop blaming on race.
“Against their own interests”. What arrogance there is in a statement like this. Maybe Georgians didn’t want to vote for a woman who sees having an abortion as some kind of crusade.
Black men are getting blamed for Stacy's loss because her Black male detractors were very very vocal on social media, particularly those in the red pill/manesphere spaces. I'm so glad the data shows they turned out for her.
Hard to keep up, keep track and keep following… I’m a huge Fan of Uncle Charla.. BUT it’s too hard too find this show. I’ve downloaded paramount+ twice and the newest episode is on there late. Then when you get to RU-vid they’re only rolling out one clip every couple days.
She’s also ignorant. She think just because you’re black you’re gonna vote Democrat? I’m tired of those narratives. This exactly why I’m voting Republican. 🤷🏾♂️
Georgia democrat here - Stacey isn't that great. People out of state love her, but she never got our buy-in. She never came across as caring about the state at all, only her national ambitions.
His explanation was since BM feel no one talks to them. And they don’t want to talk to anyone unless it’s a “grassroots” organization w/ him as lead they will not Vote. And that’s empowering. Okay 👌🏻
Latin America is a big region, we are not one big group, people in latin america come to the states with a different mindset, more focused in individuality, educated working class latinos tend to have more conservative points of views in subjects as inmigration, health, since most of us are working class, the economic landscape is something important for us in terms of economic policy and sadly the Democratic party has done a very bad job reaching out to segments of our demographic with the radicalization of some issues, such as abortion and gun rights. In the same sense we understand Republicans are not the best option for many reasons, we dont like how black americans and mostly democrats try to make every single subject about etnics or race, and for the Republicans everything seems to be a conspiracy from the communists, working class educated latinos tend to simpatize more with the libertarian ideas of lower taxes, small government (since most Latin american countries are ruined because of the opposite), real freedom of speech (not the cancel culture ), school choice and most importantly LEGAL MIGRATION.
@@elenamorales812 you are Absolutely right, we might speak spanish but that doesnt make us the same, in California Newsome got elected and he sucks as a Governor, latinos are pretty different indiviuals, same as Fetterman in PA
She’s explaining the selfish, “out for me and not for we” attitude certain LatinX groups have toward new migrants, those with a darker complexion & non English speakers that can’t fully assimilate into white culture like they have. It’s driven by shame, the need to be excepted by the almighty white & powerful, plus gain an opportunity to look down on those that appear “lesser than”.
A good guest for you would be the Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer! She’s done a good job of engaging the black community and especially black men! She gotten Detroit to turn out for her in 2 elections now! I’d be interested to hear y’all convo!
Stacey Abrams is the reason people think black men didn't vote. She went on MSNBC and pushed that dumb ass rhetoric. In reality, Stacey is a quality candidate but a terrible campaigner. She spent a majority of her campaign doubling down on cities and communities she won in 2018 handedly, but didn't stomp in the rural areas outside of 285. She picked up NO additional votes, but she blames black men. While Kemp and HW were campaigning in South GA and North GA heavy, Stacey was at One Music Fest and making cameos as the President of the World on Star Trek. She took her eye off the ball and expected people to vote for her just because she is a Black woman, and in 2018 that was a solid case but in 2022 when Kemp cut gas prices in order to position himself better with black and rural voters and tone down the SB 202 rhetoric, she let that shit work and its nobodies fault but her own. It sucks that this is where GA is but in the Deep South they either want their politicians to be celebrities or activists, the mixture won't win. Herschel is about to find that out the hard way in the runoff on a naked bill, and we will see with the turnout for the runoff it wasn't black men who did her in it was her.
@@harvestnoelcrawford7026 I live in Atlanta Metro Area and can confirm this is a bold faced lie, she pushed to the media to dull the narrative. There were sooooo many groups making sure the those on the purged role and Black Men and Elderly were able to get out to vote. As well as the exit polls showed 84% of BM voted for her. Voting numbers were down period but that's not the argument. That woman shouldn't be governor shit is OLD and DATED and a talking point to justify her mediocre performance, and was mainly a thing in 2018 because she was seen a fiscally irresponsible because of her personal debt which was debunked. Also, She was at GSU and Spelhouse homecoming but did not show up to rally the youth at Kennesaw State, Ga Southern, or UGA unlike that Good Ole Boy Kemp who had rallies on those campuses to swing Gen Z votes and increase turn out for voters NOT ALREADY VOTING FOR THEM. She did not target Purple or swing voters and she piggy backed Biden's agenda, which is hit or miss in this state.
she is just a bad polititian, she refused to accept election results in many instances in the past and then went and criticized Trump and the Reps because of that same thing, she had not strong policies or ideas to make people vote for her in her community, latinos had absolutely no reason for supporting her and she made everything about race and now she lost again and now is about black men, she is never the one to blame for her lack of results... and its been like that since the begging, thats why she lost. She is not a representation of any particular group but a carreer polititian...
Killer Mike said somthing similar. He said on this same platform, that Brian Kemp is showing up in all the neighborhoods, talking to republicans and the democrats and if Stacy wanted the support then she needed to do the same thing. People gave him hell for that but he was right. Whiel Brian Kemp was meeting with the people of Georgia, probably selling lies, Stacy was doing videos with celebrities. What she failed to realize is that when it comes to their best interest, voters do not care about the opinions of celebrities. They want to hear from you face to face.
You’re aware CTG isn’t a comedian, right? With the current state of this country it should be. It’s way past time to inform people on the facts and history beyond Q/MAGA/Chritsofascism bs on social media. You can choose to not watch anytime…
I am Latina we don’t take advise from anybody. White, black or yellow. We come here, work hard and accomplish anything we put our minds to. While you guys wait for a check in the mail. We are working hard so you get it. Color has nothing to do with the decisions we make. Only decision that affects our pockets. So you guys can keep voting democrat and waiting for crumbs. Nothing will change for you. 🤷🏾♀️
Excuse me but the door that you walked through is open bc of the hard work to make this a true democracy that black ppl fought and died for. It’s our hard work, blood sweat and labor that created the 13th and 14th amendment privileges that you enjoy today. Don’t ever accuse black ppl of just waiting for checks you ingrate! We’ve got more college degrees and the entrepreneurs than you think!
Margie you are making dangerous broad false assumptions that are rude and down right wrong. You cannot paint a stroke of character across all people. Latinas are often seen as grifters coming yo America and immediately getting food stamps and other amenities that my tax dollars pay for. So you need to fact check check your assumptions and be informed that anyone can attain goals.
Take note.. democratic areas have higher wages, more resources in public services, promote public health, advance evidence based science, stronger healthcare and education systems, fight for equity and social justice, promote civic participation and strive to create a society of inclusion and empathy for the underserved. They’re not perfect but they strive to create the dream that anyone can come to America work hard and be successful. They’re welcoming and kind to newcomers!
@@phillynurse9492 🤣 promote public health yeah NY water is yummy and how many other major cities have non drinkable water. Did you actually mention education? Yeahhhhh now that's hilarious 😂😆😂. You sound like a democratic robot. Most of what you discuss is straight up bullshit. I mean did you read that shit? Sounds like a BS paper on civics in my community. "More resources in public service", is that out of a pamphlet or something? Fight for equity, that's hilarious. Where is that office? I'm not here to convince you and I'll pass on that bullshit you're trying to sell.
@@1MultimediaCompany Sorry your water is crappy ours is delicious especially the closer you get to the mountains. We gave lots of school choices (charter, technology etc.) thanks to our hard fight to use our tax dollars to fund them. Yes, civics was one of my favorite classes in elementary school that’s how I know who and where to get resources to advance our community needs. Try going to your state or city .Gov and get your concerns resolved through your local or state department and representatives. That’s what you pay your taxes for and the salaries and benefits of your elected officials.
@@1MultimediaCompany Too bad you didn’t take advantage of the excellent benefits for higher education there I wish I didn’t have to pay college tuition but I did and payed my loans off in full. California has some of the best veterans benefits and resources in the country I know vets that retired and moved there they love it! They have an excellent healthcare and educational system too awesome universities and scholarships.
So disappointed in that group discussion does either that they lack intelligence to see the bigger picture or they're being told directly it's all about race and to keep that false narrative alive. The glaring issue is that the leaders of the Democratic Party feel that just the color of your skin dictates how you should vote. Not that that you're a free-minded individual. And I'm still trying to figure out why would somebody say that if a black person doesn't vote Democrat they're voting against their best interest. Its really that they have convinced you that you're voting against their best interest to keep them in power. According to them, they know it's best for you.
The proximity to whiteness is very appealing to many. 🤷🏽♀ Glad to see there are some excellent Black candidates running for elected office and some are winning!!! ✊🏽✊🏽
What a sad show. They're in a heated competition with the view to see, once and for all, who the dumbest people in the world are that can still get a TV show.
I’m happy Abrams lost because her and her followers were blaming black men before a vote was even counted. Plus she wanted to move low income housing to the suburbs and that was going down out here.
Y’all need to leave blk ppl alone. We are 13% of the population and they have taken away the voting rights of so many blk men. Latino is a fictitious group. It’s a colonized language group not a cultural distinction. Haiti and The Dominican Republic are actually the same small land mass. Jamaican and Colombian food is similar because they share a cultural heritage. First capital of Jamaica was Spanish Town.
The congressman refuted Charlemagne's point without CTG realizing it, because he said democrats message is not resonating with a lot of young black men, so essentially, they're not reaching them. Is it true some black men vote yes, but its also true there a lot of black men who don't vote. 2 things can be true. And miss me with that meet with "Dr." Umar nonsense, he don't speak for all black men.
Charlemagne was actively encouraging people not to vote on a national radio platform the last 2 presidency cycles so he's the last person that should be talking
