I’ve seen that step down style on other European pipes, even new ones. I think it is an easy way to make a more comfortable bite using bulk manufactured stems.
Do you have a video on how to fix a screw in stem that turns too far and it’s not sitting level? I heard somebody say that you can heat the pipe and adjust the metal? I just wasn’t sure which side to try it on? And I’m not sure what the chances are. I would do it correctly and not ruin the pipe, although it’s not an expensive pipe at all.
