Very good stuff. I have a feeling that I will be seeing a lot more of these fronts this year in my league here in NJ. Coach - if possible, what I would love to see you do a video on is what a typical work week looks like for you in terms of Offensive game-planning. In other words, starting with the next opponent's film review the day after the previous game throughout the practice week...what kind of things are you doing as a coaching staff each day to get the game board ready and have your team ready to execute on game night. Do you have a set daily routine, or does it kind of change week to week based on the number of practice days that week, opponent, etc. Thanks for all you do Coach!

Coach, can you make a video covering what you expect from your coaches up in the box? Do you have a formula down for someone upstairs as to how to digest the play and turn it into useful info? I have learned a bunch from your videos. Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge! Much appreciated.

Great front to combat spread teams. I like the way Iowa state puts the E to the Rb side in a 4i and the E away in a 5. Id love to see Iowa State take up the space on 1st and 2nd down.

They may feel they don't match up well enough to play tighter

Great stuff Coach. How do you handle Y-on formations? Do you walk your overhang up and play a 9 tech against the 3-man surface?
@CoachMac
@CoachMac 4 года назад
Yes, not really a 9 but similar

Coach Mac is the overhang playing a Loose 9? Or does he cross Y’s face to pry into C -gap?

Coach, what do you think about your version of the tite front in a scheme that bases out of spot drop? I worked on it some just brainstorming, one thing I thought about was moving the FS to an alignment where they split the difference between both #1s, but at about the same depth. What about Cover 2? If you rush 4 with the mike rushing, the ram and lion each play a hook, the corners play a flat, and the FS comes down to play the middle hook, that seems fairly simple and not more problematic than your usual C2 weaknesses. However, what about when the ram or lion rush? How would you structure the coverage behind that pass rush? Bring the SS/WS down to play the hook to the side of the rushing ram/lion (seems like they would have a tough time getting down in time to jam #2 and force them inside to help the deep half player), and drop the FS to one of the deep halves (seems like it could be an issue for them to get there in time)? Put the FS on the hook to the side of the rushing ram/lion (could they get there in time to jam #2)? Mike on the hook to the side of the rushing ram/lion (definitely seems like they wouldn't be able to get to #2 with the right angle and in time to jam them), and the FS coming down to play the middle hook? What about Cover 3? Seems like just about any way you shake it, you'd be in decent shape except maybe where the mike plays the hook/curl to the side of a rushing ram/lion, maybe they would have a tough time getting to #2 and keeping them from hitting the seam too quickly? Thanks!

When we add the Lion or Ram we play man free stuff behind it so our Mike doesn't have to learn all our base coverages. If we add the Mike we can play anything we want. We have a Tampa Cov 2 version that we carry.
