I was surprised by the Taylors this whole tournament. They didn’t drop a set all weekend and not a single set was won by a margin of 2 points. I was surprised to see Cook/Caldwell play pretty well against the other teams in the field, including Bourne/Schalk in their semifinal. They did not bring it against the Taylors and it showed. Gotta give props to Sander, he looks like a much more complete player now. Still figuring out the blocking footwork, but he did everything so well this weekend. I don’t know what it was, but T Crabbs balled out this weekend. He was absolutely scooping balls. Excited to see how the Taylors perform against the top 3 teams later this year.
Cook lets his emotions of being an entertainer get in the way of winning games. To each their own but they got walked on because he isnt the leader he needs to be on the court. Should of been more competitive. tough watch.
Congrads to the TTs'. But seriously that was the most one sided final in the AVP! CC just not in the same game so many enforced errors, missed serve, hitting out......... every game is about momentum, you cannot get momentum if you make so many errors. Focus on your game and not showing off.
CC came out of the contenders bracket so played more matches and their semi against Bourne/Schalk was really intense. TT played Field/Bomgren for the second time this tournament in their semi. When CC is playing their third match of the day against a team playing their second, this is to be expected.
Gotta be the weakest AVP tournament I've seen in years. TT's were sleep walking and won easily. Since the best players are now going to FIVB, it's made the AVP look like the G league. It's sad to see how far it has fallen.
Chill dude, the Olympics are literally right around the corner. The best athletes are prioritizing a once every 4 year opportunity. It’s like this every end of a quad.
@@bschnelk Not one foreign team in the top ten world rankings has gone near an AVP tournament in years. They would smoke everyone. We only have one team in the top ten. Even the Taylors know they can't compete with the big dogs. They're not even in the top 50. AVP is last years news, dude.
did they change the standards for setting double calls in this year's AVP? so many clear bobbles / torques by caldwell/cook including several that were complimented by the analysts!!! so cringe
