I honestly don't understand why you don't have more views. I truly believe, that if you play Football Manager, it is a MUST to see your videos. They are so informative and explained in a way that makes it interesting and not boring. Thanks a lot for the content!
When you said "Goalkeeping and Fitness Coaches work with your entire squad so you don't need youth ones" I just got ptsd to all the goalkeeper and fitness coaches I hire for my youth teams because I didn't know it didnt matter...
Head of youth Devolepment: Look also what tactics they prefer to play at the bottom it should suit your "main" tactics so the player coming from the youth fits in, in terms of Rolewise. just a little tip!
The great thing about FM is you can always learn something more about this game, one little tip from anybody can help you. One of the best tips I ever got was from a chap whose video had 500 or so views and his tip was about praising training over 8.5 and criticizing anything under 6.5. That turned my game around. It seems obvious now but before that I was only praising and criticising in an inconsistent way.
Zealand, everyone in the media has that one video from when they were young, that will get used when they're on some random talkshow. The first bit of this one will be the one for you. Glorious stuff!
Seconded, also seeing as often a retiring player will have reached a stage where they're not good enough for first team football and you feel bad for not using them after all these years of service
Just subscribed, really enjoying playing football manager but it's crazy how much more there is to this game than meets the eye. Your content has helped me so much and makes the game more enjoyable and less frustrating!
Excellent video, I really concentrated on getting some great staff in my Colchester united save and it works a treat, especially with bringing youngsters through, players can develop much better with decent staff!
Me: Finds a good coach that wants $65k and works within my overall wage budget and I have a few hundred K left in my wage budget Board: We'll let you spend $17.5k on that coach Me: let me do it Board: No.
yeah sometimes its really annoying also when they say "the wage we have set for these coaches is more then enough for a club of our stature" when u can offer 1.3k a week to a head scout...
Thanks for creating all these videos! Just got into fm and you’ve been my first stop for all my questions, again Thankyou man appreciate your content 👍🏽
tip: get a specialised coach for every training area and then get 1 allround coach with okeyish training skills but suberb mental skills (MANMANAGEMENT, determination, motivation, disciplin) to support every area but goalkeepers. this grants you high training rating with low coaching workload.
I end up with a whole bunch of reserves coaches, because they work with all 3 levels of teams, they have to cover more people but you get more value out of them, plus if you move your players around they don't just sit around and enjoy the light workload. Basically if I can ask for more coaches from the board I ask for reserves coaches most of the time and if the people you want to sign prefer a main coaching role, just throw money at them, it doesn't take much most of the time.
Alternative theory: The game knows that reputation and motivation etc. are much more important, and don't just look at the attributes for the specific coaching area. I am pretty sure others have said this as well.
Little late to the party because FM21 is gonna be released soon but I still play FM20 and was ALWAYS wondering how important „tactical style“, „preferred formation“ and „playing style“ are??? Anybody has an answer? Are they equally important as your attributes like attacking or defending? Or less so? Or more so? It bugs me playing a game but not really being able to find out what’s more important. Comments would be Highly appreciated 🙌😅
Love the videos; they're super insightful. Question about Data Amalysts and Facilities: do they really do that much? I've consistently been improving both and haven't found much of a difference compared to what they offered initially. Again, great videos; keep up the amazing work!
Play the mobile version, you only get 1 to 4 slots depending on finance, and they only have one skill per coach. You get 1 to 3 Scouts and 1 to 3 Physios.
FM and your videos are keepimg me occupied during lockdown. Fabulous content. I'm Deportivo in la Liga but it's a nightmare to get good quality staff for the B team and under 19s. Any advice? And anyone else have this issue?
I have wanted to get into FM for years but have been too intimidated until a kind fellow gave me a link to your channel. Bravo sir, I have finally taken the plunge, purchased FM 2020 and am now avidly following along with your FM academy and links therein :) I choose Man Utd as my starting club as they are the team I supported when I used to follow football. So you're choice of team to look at as an example is perfect. Have also subscribed to the channel 👍 I have a question if I may. The stats on Richard Hartis seem to have changed a lot since this video was made. Given the change, is he still a poor choice for the job?
Great video. Question: In order to lower the workload for the coaches I try to have some additional coaches who are not the "main" coaches for the particular area (say, Defensive Tactical training), so the workload changes from Heavy to Average, for instance. However, these "assistant" coaches may not have great attributes for the specific training. I ONLY use them to get the main responsible coach to have a lesser workload. Do these "assistant" coaches pull the quality down (the star rating for the training does not seem to be affected)?
First off - great videos, really useful and informative, and entertaining enough to keep my attention (which is pretty hard tbh). Quick question - I'm still on FM17 and I'm pretty lost on what stats to consider when hiring Data Analysts and Sports Scientists. Any idea what attributes matter for those positions in that game?
go to staff, staff search, new search, below attributes click Pick, at Highlight key attributes for roles, choose data analysts. It will show you which attributes important to that staff.
I have the playerstats unmasked. Do i need "judging player ability" anyway or is it only to Show how fast they uncover the stats of unnown Players? by the way, great guide, Keep up the good work
let me tell you ... as a player and later on as a coach the holy trinity you presentet is vital.. those frakkin lazy footballers.. cut'n corners every where they can :-)
Thanks for interesting video. My problem is that, probably like most, I want the best Staff ; & they won`t come to .... Bolton !. My other probelm is that Bolton is in debt & I have not replaced most Staff because it costs to get rid of them.
1 tip I can add to this when you negotiate your own contract make sure you put your wage to the lowest possible (it's not like it's important to you) then you have more money to play with when it comes to staff wages 😁
Do you have any tips on maxing our youth training Staff. I have filled all positions with what I think are decent coaches/managers etc. Yet I am s to lo very very low in terms of my u23 staff. Is there something I’m missing here, as it doesn’t let me create more space for staff either.
I probably late, but I started a new unemployed, sunday league player, bottom of the pit save then got Guiseley as my first team. The team already had a doctor and head physio, but no physio. Is recruiting another physio any good? Temptations hit me because team doctor actually treat the player quicker than physio..
You'll get the option when you are at the interview at a new club. Normally they'll ask you if you want to change some of the current staff, and that is where you can get some to join with you. But sometimes they won't follow because of different reasons :/
I'm looking into fm experiments for the future, and I'd like to find out how much each of the attributes contributes to the overall skill of staff. What outcome would you look at for determining if coach A or B did a better job?
@@ZealandonYT so would you think that the star rating of a coach is kind of equal to the actual impact that a coach has? Whatever that impact actually is... Could be improved attributes of trained players or match performance
@@ZealandonYT yep, that could work in an A/B test scenario, doing the same save with changes ratings and comparing player development for multiple players
Just choose coaches/staff who have resolute, fairly or professional, and spirited personalities. They are great coaches for making good progress for player.
There are one or two of us smart enough to appreciate this amazing game. I suck at it for right now and just resigned from my my first job. LOL. Back to the drawing board...
United have recently come down HARD on logo packs due to those using the United logo in an unlicensed manner. Their logo is their intellectual property and they don't want it in logo packs anymore - a path that will probably lead to more "specialized" FM versions as seen this year with the Arsenal and Valencia versions, which both have logos and player pictures from these clubs, while the standard versions do not. TL;DR - it's a licensing issue.
Something you forget right from the beginning is that the effect of a coach on training is defined by different things: his technical stats, his DDM (determination discipline motivation) and his reputation. Ok your GK is better technically, but the 3 combined give the exact same effect on players. I stopped watching there because you act like you obviously know everything, but I'm not so sure you do.
