Great review guys, I was back in London England in May of 2022. Had the pleasure of going to an Urban Rider store and trying some gear on that we don't get here in Canada. I'm curious to what size Tim wears for the Merlin Jacket as I'm wanting to get a new summer jacket this year. I typically wear a large for my Revit Jacket. Cheers.

I feel this style of use-case presentation is really helpful when making one's own motorcycle related decisions and the style is easy to listen to which is a great bonus. You'll never please all the folk or produce an episode that doesn't leave somebody feeling 'nope' but for me, keep these going. The only problem I see is you will run out of staff/colleagues! You'll need to tap up your wider contact base I guess or your customers. Good luck, cheers Brady

I ordered the Merlin Drifter ready for the summer after seeing this. Seems like a great jacket and the usual Merlin quality. The elbow armour seems really low down the arms though. Would be good to know if Tim or any other owners thought the same?

With the Arai helmet they have the pro visor now which gives you both clear and tinted in one package ;)

No sun visor on that arai due to compromise of the shell structure. Same reason the visor attachment points stick out the sides. Same reason the brow vents start inside the visor.

It'd be really nice if every company used the same mesh standard so I didn't have to care that my friends have Sena or Cardo or whatever else, I could just buy on who made the best tech.

nice rundown of gear, you are making me spend too much. A thought about wearing a backpack, although i dont like them as such, i do wear one most of the time because I'm sick of being out and not being able to buy what i need. I have a few times kept a level 2 d30 back protector in the computer pocket at the back. It could help if i came off with a can of beans in the back. Also for those longer trips it's an additional safety. My prediction is that Tim will stray to a Klim Marrakesh, he wont be able to help himself.

Great bike, Tim. That's a good top box. Is the AT the L model? I'd have got the Shoei X-Zero. I hate goggles. The Fuel Sargeant 2 kecks look better. Pando Moto pants: look good. Those Stylmartin boots would be great in GB in winter. I hate backpacks. My favourite kit video series by a mile.

I like my Rapide Neo, but it feels so huge on my bonce. I also find it lets in a lot of air through the bottom of the visor after putting in a pinlock. Obviously something I messed up, but it is very annoying and I'm not sure how to fix it. Beeline Moto is great, too.

PSA: intercoms with Mesh are indeed a necessity, but beware that each manufacturers mesh implementation is proprietary (unnecessarily I might add) so if you have a Sena and all your friends have a Cardo your mesh is useless and you have to fall back to connecting via old school Bluetooth direct connection

The scrambler style kit is way too costumey for me. Interested to hear what you guys wear outside of work when you're riding to meet mates for a coffee or a beer - are you wearing this kit in that sort of situation or is it mostly just a commute to work at a motorcycle accessories store type setup?

Tim, have you ever tried Lee Parks gloves? They’re crazy simple and you can choose from the seam being on the inside of the glove or the outside. Minimal pieces of material & of stitching to increase strength. And best of all they use Deer and elk skin so super strong while being even thinner than cow, and super supple. Made in the USA. The outseam sewn models might not be as pretty but it feels so good to not have to touch a seem

Hi lads I will soon be getting my first motorcycle just about to hit 60 in April and need some advice on what gear I should buy. After the price of getting my license and the probable cost of my motorcycle second hand Honda nc 750 DCT that will all be on finances as have very little saving. Anyway back to my enquiry lads could recommend me good but cheap clothing, helmet, gloves, boots for warn uk ridding only no winter ridding at my age..
