"Stages" is the second single taken from the Frank and Walters' album "Songs for the Walking Wounded". The song features a stirring spoken word verse Cork Actor Cillian Murphy.
For many years I have grown cynical of life as I witnessed too Much... too much... but with the passing of time I have learned again to Love. To love the rocks, the trees and the sky above and the river flowing past the city, the weeds growing between the cobblestones. I'm learning to understand. To understand the little thing is to forgive everything. When you begin to understand people, you begin to understand fear, Greed and lust for power, ignorance and the poor of you who shouts the loudest. And then you can start to forgive. Perhaps we're living in a different day. A day I have lived in the past I will live again in the future.
Perfect song. You've just explained my life and I'm 45.... I discovered you tonight though a contact on Twitter. I'm so happy to find music that makes sense (to me).
Brilliant song, brilliant lyrics - spot on, there's nothing worse than the know-all preaching what you should have done in a situation they have never experienced themselves! I am also here because of CM. I used to love the Frank and Walters back in the 90s. I must admit, I didn't realise that they were still going strong, time to make amends! And, yes, the line "the pull of he-who-shouts-the-loudest" is a gem, as noted by others too - there's a great song in that line alone.
This song happened to be in my Liked Songs, somehow, and it took me a moment (and a Google) to notice Cillian Murphy's voice, but this song is great. Need more of these CM speaking gigs.
Don't know why but today I remembered The Frank and Walters and decided to relisten to Trains, Boats and Planes after many years, great album, great to see they are still making music, this is an awesome song also.
Damn great live singer’s sexy voice!!! Killer in every way!!!! New subscriber keep Cillian Murphy comin!! Absolutely awesome thanks for sharing !!!!!! 👍❤️🔥
Not from Cork. But whatever about the U.S. Frank 'N Walter's should made big Britain. R.T.E needs to get it's act together. We have a lot talent in this country without knowing it. Frank n Walter's are Superb band.
