Painting for me is in stages. Learn how to execute a work by following my process! #art #artiststudio #paint #colourmixing #artlesson #artist #brushwork #paintart #artistgarden #arttip
I appreciate you SO MUCH for not being a gatekeeper for your process!! 💝 I haven't "found" my art style yet, and I think it's because I don't know enough about process. I don't anticipate that I will do landscapes, but I can see how following your basic steps will make my art really pop! Thank you, from a life-long learner!
Are you kidding me!! I’ve never seen a prep like this!! I’m a beginner painter and will never get to doing anything like this but I love your incredibly unique approach.
good idea with the red underpainting. Gonna try that. I like your style of painting! I didn't know I could paint till a friend paid for two classes for my 50th birthday. I continued the class, with 2 or 3 other ladies, for the next 8-9 years, in the basement of the couple's home. I still paint almost daily. Once per week for sure. And still love it. And am still surprised at every painting I finish, haha! Who knew?! I do mostly landscapes and wildlife, in a kind of representational way, with not a lot of detail. I'm gonna try your technique. I grew up in Ontario, but have lived in Colorado since 1986, after I married a fella from Oklahoma. We kind of settled in an area halfway between our parents. I haven't been back to Ontario since leaving in 1977. With a name like Veenstra, you are either Dutch, or married someone Dutch. My maiden name is Van Giesen. Both parents are Dutch immigrants to Canada. Different boats, different years. Anyway, I'm going to watch all your videos, and look forward to more of them. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much for sharing your painting technique. Probably the only thing I'll be able to do will be the red background 😂😂😂. Your painting technique is really great, but I think it's a bit difficult for me, but I'll try anyway 🌹🌹🌹🌹
I loved seeing your process and your love for color and nature. Your loose brushstrokes with multiple colors on your brush make the painting vibrant and energetic.
Loving your colorful paintings and learning this loose process. Thank you. BUT I would like to know how you switch back and forth between such a Wide variety of colors. How often to you clean your brushes between lights and darks? Help
I am looking forward to following you Julia. I am from Manitoba. I have been watercoloring since 2016 and this past year i ventured into acrylics. I am enjoying them immensely and look forward to watching you journey. Thank you so much for sharing!
Im a new artist and just discovered your youtube and then found you on Instagram. You are such an inspiration and your work is beautiful. I hope to meet you someday and be featured in a galkery alongsie your beautiful work ❤.
Hi Julia! I've just discovered you and your fabulous art! I'm smitten! Thank you so much for sharing! I love watching your process! You are a huge inspiration as I am still trying to find my style!
Where can I purchase the (paint keeper) you are using? In this video …I searched Amazon and cannot find it. I am an artist and I admire your work. Beautiful!
Thanks for the show. It was finished after the chalk as we mostly overwork the creation. But in the end yr feel for coloring is great. That flat brush works for you.
I’m so glad you came up in my feed. I loved seeing the process. I know a lot of artists do any under painting, but I loved seeing the chalk step. I love your style and colors♥️ Thank you for sharing !
I think your "pointy" might be a "round", if you were curious. Pointy sounds way cuter though. So stylish the way you paint the trees rather than block-in the whole tree with dark green, then add midtones, lights and highlights (in that order). Yours have tonnes of personality and life!
I hate spiders yeesh , thought it was on my phone 📱 so I dropped it, didn't have my glasses 🤓 on. Lol. Thanks for the video. I'm still at a loss for texture on the trees .
You snap a photo of a landscape. Then print the picture. You then*use the 2d photograph* as a *reference* for _ making the actual painted canvas_ . Good stuff
How long in real time did the block in take? I had to laugh, I’m a “stop the car” kinda gal myself. Used to drive my husband nuts, but now after 48 years, he just pulls on over!
